From the one group? I'm far from experienced in the  coach sale, was lucky in '23 helping folk, but it's hectic... Pick 1 day / couple of departure points and lock them in.. You don't want to be messing about once you've landed at the departure page

yep too many chances of things going wrong and im not sure we yet know if we queue in different queues for different days ..... although I think itll be just one then select day

Although reading the FAQ it seems a bit unclear but does suggest you enter reg numbers first, which I’m sure is different to last year.

Yep, the FAQ has entering registration details first, then it goes on to talk about coach departures but it could just be the way they've phrased it.

Day > Reg > Departure Point

It's not.

At least with the old system, for those of us used to it, is that there was a degree of certainty about the uncertainty, if that makes sense! Battering away at f5 with a few devices gave you the feeling that you were actually doing something. Not staring in a strange silence at a screen waiting for something to happen.
Anyway for those going for the coach sale tomorrow, all the best. 🤞

whenever i speak to people about going, and i get the inevitable question of "how do you get tickets every year" my answer is always the same, and always cheezy as hell.

but i really, truly believe it - if you genuinely, deep in your heart, 100% sincerely want to be there, then the Glastonbury god will smile upon you.

its the only explanation i have for the fact that we have gotten tickets every year.

its also the reason that it properly makes me laugh at 9.15 every sale day when people start crying about how its not fair - if you think you have time to bitch on twitter (or whatever) then really, you ain't putting the effort in.

this year i'll just have one browser, one screen and see what happens.

all good either way.

looking forward to all the crying after the sale when all these people realise that having a lottery did not automatically grant them a ticket, which is what they all seem to think will happen.

my thoughts are similar plus if you are generally nice to people on the internet and develop a good network of people and festival goers , you get friends through that , very much so with this place and you get the numbers that help and `i was massively thankful for that the year post covid

Do we think ticket prices (in this economic climate) has put people off? Do you know many people in your friendship groups put off because of it? None in mine so was curious! - Fingers crossed for tomorrow night!

I don't know anyone that's not going due to ticket price - it's generally perceived as still good value, especially by those that have been before.  I know a few people not going for other reasons, but they've been replaced by some 1st timers.   Totally anecdotally, based on my little bubble, I expect demand to be about the same as normal.

I just can't believe this sadly. I've been ten times, but never once got my own tickets - other people got there first for me (even in 2008 when they didn't sell out!). I feel like I get there despite the Glasto Gods who seem not to want me there!

I've worked the last 3 (against my wishes - I'm not one of the "I'll never punter again" brigade, I already have two jobs) despite software engineer husband and utilising every trick we've dug out of every corner of the internet (sadly weren't quick enough on the fix last year). It was the only reason I joined here!

I don't believe I could possibly have less luck with the new system than the old, but will undoubtedly regret this misplaced optimism. I have my work role to fall back on and it's better than not being there but... Pffft, I don't know, it's all just luck isn't it.

I think we are some years away from ticket prices putting people off. I guess everybody will have their own limit but I suspect a lot of people will cut back on other luxuries so they can still afford to go.

Plus it doesn't really matter, demand is so huge that for the few people that decide not to try there's another 10 to take their place in the queue.

there's a core crew of 6 of us who try for tickets, all of us have been the lucky one at some point over the years... i went through a purple patch for a number of years where it was me... but now i think about it, i haven't personally got tickets for some time now...

so dang it - maybe the Glastonbury god doesn't want me there either!

not long til i find out i guess... 🙂

I think deep in your heart you only 99% sincerely want to be there, so the Glasto Gods looked down on you and said 'here's 3 x 8 hour shifts now crack on' 🙂

I should rephrase this... One of our groups wants to leave on the wednesday from a certain departure location. If that location and day isn't available 3 of the group are prepared to travel thursday. Are you able to go back and remove the others before going for a thursday option???

I’ve always thought it strange that the Day options (selected first) are Wednesday or Thursday…. Yet for the Scottish contingent, both the Edinburgh and Glasgow buses leave on the Tuesday. I have always assumed if you were to choose Thursday from the first page, no buses would be available, but I’ve never tried it. I’ve only been successful by opting for Wednesday, and getting the bus on the Tuesday. All a bit baffling.

There's no way to ever know. What kind of monster would ever select the "Thursday" page?

I think it's a work thing for most. I know the one time I had to arrive Thursday it was because I just couldn't get down on the Wednesday despite really wanting to as the Wednesday is one of my favourite days.

But this particular festival would likely have ceased to exist.  He's mentioned in interviews that as a quaker the 2m quid per year for charity was a powerful motivation to continue, particularly once it started to move in the direction of music that wasn't really his bag.

Does anybody know what time is best to start queueing tomorrow?

From all that's been said, it doesn't matter - so long as you are in by the start of the sale.

There's no apparent benefit to being earlier and I'm thinking it might be best to enter/refresh just before 18:00 to make sure you have an active session?

Good luck all.

If everyone entered/refreshed just before 6pm would the server not crash or at the very least loads not reload fast enough and get dumped at the back of the queue?

Good point, was just thinking it might time out?

I’m not gonna be refreshing … I’ll enter a device early and one later but before 6 … spread your options

All about spreading your ducks now!  And how many ducks you can recruit to wait in line.

Happily I've just introduced a solo friend to a group of 5 who I'm friends with from the gym, so I've massively increased his amount of ducks!

Visiting the parents on Saturday to give them a tutorial so they can be extra ducks for Sunday and help friends and family.

The thinking was that the queueing system will be able to handle far more connections than than the see servers so theoretically it shouldn't be a problem but just in case I would open up the page a good 10 minutes before to be sure of enough time to combat any latency.

Staggering your log ons if you have multiple connections probably isn't a bad idea.
