TL;DR: Either joining the waiting room early or using 5G or both appeared to me to be the most reliable route through the queue. Though it might have just been luck or coincidence.

 

My experience:

 

I joined the waiting room at ~17:15 on my phone (Chrome, iPhone, EE) while out at parents' evening for my daughter (stupid scheduling), skipped the final two appointments and very-fast-walked home to load up the waiting room on my laptop (MacOS) and in a couple of remote desktop sessions (Linux) in other locations.

 

At 18:00 all waiting rooms reloaded: everything was showing two bars. About a minute later my phone (5G connection) progressed to three bars and began to make "steadyish progress". Everything else still stuck on two bars.

 

By the time my phone got through (which was at approx 18:10 i think?) my laptop queue had reached 3 bars; the other locations were stuck at 2 bars still.

 

I kinda ignored the queues while very carefully but as quickly as possible punching numbers into Seetickets. After securing tickets (🎉 one for me, one for aforementioned daughter) I looked back at the queues to see laptop queue was still way off at about 5 bars and remote desktops were at 2 bars still.

 

It feels like people using 5G/phones had more success, and that was certainly my experience.

 

Fun fact: during all of this, my watch let me know for the first time that it had detected my heart rate as being too high.

My understanding is that it was about 20k today, which leaves about 100k for Sunday (though I can't now remember where I read/heard this).

I got about 7 bars immediately on my phone.. it progressed quickly and I was on the SEE site at 6.10pm.. got Wednesday coaches sorted for our group.  
 

I tried the back button but it just kicked me out to the 2 bar queue again.  So I’d say that’s not a thing.

 

My laptop stuck at 2 bars the whole time as did alot of our group.  So

Suppose it could be the high amount, yeah. Still shouldn't cancel them though but instead just ask for approval in banking app IMO. I have spent over a grand out of my current account before and not had my transaction cancelled.

22,500 coach tickets

115,000 regular tickets 

(happy to be corrected if we know that the total sold has gone up from 137,500, but that what I remember being the case.

Heads up everyone, it's only Thursday. Lots of folk joined the queue just to test it ahead of Sunday. It will therefore have been busier than a usual Thursday I imagine. I predict that lots of us will get tickets on Sunday and lots won't, same as always- but it won't be the fault of the new system it's just luck of the draw on the day.

It's pot luck.

 

If you get through on your phone it creates a bias that's the way go I'm sure. Plenty will have got through on tablets and laptops I'm sure as always.

It isn’t that simple. Each bank has different layers via different solutions with different capabilities without divulging to much you will never find a pattern for the decline from here

+ coach ticket fee as well. Funds were there but I’ll be using chase / monzo for Sunday!
