Just in case we don’t get tickets… what European festivals can people suggests that would be good for a mixed group of late 20s/early 30s with a fairly wide variety of music tastes? Probably a slight bias towards pop, Indie, dance and RNB but not so much heavy metal. But we are very mixed in terms of taste so it needs to have something for everyone.

dont put the bad energy out there yet!  you will get in!

Pukkelpop and Werchter both good.

Love the positivity! I just always love to have a contingency plan in my pocket so that if it doesn’t go to plan on Sunday we can think “ah well, let’s plan X instead” rather than total disappointment.

It’s not been particularly rock-y for a few years now. Plenty of pop and dance acts over the last few years.

Looking at the past few lineups, I think RW and Sziget are the sort of vibe I’m looking for.

Didn’t get past the third blob.

It is really annoying reading posts about people who were trying who didn’t even want coach tickets.

Selfish pricks snarling it up for genuine ticket buyers.

Slightly twisted logic? The only people stopping you getting tickets were people in front of you in the queue that were actually buying tickets - anyone not buying tickets had zero effect on your chances... I'll be delighted if everyone in front of me in the queue on Sunday is just browsing!

From my own experience, and from reading the experience of others, far from being snarled up, technically the new system worked pretty flawlessly (and yes, I was trying to get tickets, and no, I didn't get any). Roll on Sunday!

Where have you read this?

What is the insinuation here? They still sold the same amount of tickets so are you just saying that they mainly went to people who don’t have a social media presence?

Change browsers.

Coachella pre sales 10+ years ago had queue it and the exploit  was there. They patched it after about 3 years. See doesnt know the issues til it works in real time. Thats the whole thing. You could simulate it but its not the same

Adding on a bit more from my experience:

We had 2 laptops with single tabs on the WiFi and two phones on 4g connected here... in Vietnam. I also had a family member in the UK on one laptop and one phone on 4g. All single tabs on each.

Judging by that, I think you are *ok* with more than 1 device connected on the same network. Accessing from abroad wasn't an issue either. I didn't try with a VPN.

All started out on two bars, before one of the laptops here in vietnam began to progress quickly every 30 seconds or so. Was about 5 past when we made it through to the booking site. Luckily the autofill/memory of my laptop had the reg numbers saved from a previous (failed) sale. Payment itself was easy and no issues. I seem to remember there was a log in for saved payment cards or something similar. Not sure if that's an option if you have a seetickets account. all done by 8 past. I tried a few minutes later to go back to the add registrations page but it kicked me out and back in the queue.

After we got through, the wifi device in the UK got through at about 13 past.  Didn't  have the reg numbers of anyone else to continue.

Seemingly it is all pretty random.

We managed to get one group out of 4. Most didn't get past 2 bars. I got to 10 bars on one device and 20 on another but still nowhere near the 37 (I think) needed to get to the front of the queue. The device that got to 20 bars just seemed to freeze when it got there but I suspect this was because most tickets had already gone by then and people at the front of the queue were taking longer trying all options.

A couple of questions...

Can we confirm that if you were on the holding page (glastonburyseetickets) before 5pm you needed to refresh to get the timer?

Anybody that did get through, did you get the option to use ApplePay?

Yeah, I needed to refresh to get into the waiting room.

I didn’t refresh on my phone or laptop, it just ticked over into the count.

There was an Apple pay option, unfortunately I panicked and forgot my credit card was registered with Apple Pay so ended up typing in my partners card instead.. but will maybe use Apple Pay next time, though I do get the fear about switching windows to authorise payment, it was less stressful to have my partner do that for me.

No joy in Thailand last night.  Will head to Laos to see if that helps on Sunday.

Hope you're getting the slow boat.

We did it in reverse in 2018, strangely enough we tried for tickets then in Chiang Rai

Any ideas what was occuring with devices that never moved past 2 green bars? Is that the default if you are so back in the queue you are basically not in it at all?

(the following is guesswork, numbers/ratios used are also made up to make it readable).

in my head it was like a queue in segments so everyone on two had a number -  when it was time to move up the queue - the first 1-500 moved to the next segment of the queue,

the next time it was time to move the queue up.   Another 500 this time 500(this time 501-1000). moved into the next segment or third green bar if you like at the same time as this 1-400 moved into the 4th green bar.

The next time another 500 moved from 2 to 3 (1001 - 1500),  400 from 3 to 4 (401-800) ,  and then 300 from 4 to 5 (1-300)  and so on and so on.

This means that progress at the start of the queue appears slower - by means of more people being stuck in that position than it is at the top end of the queue - at the top its literally like a one in one out - when someone is done checking out then the next person at the very top of the queue is dropped into the payment slot.

In this example the first two bars were extra capacity that was not needed for this sale.

This is obviously a massive over simplification but this is my best guess of how it would work.

Imagine having to pout the water from one of these cups to the other from biggest to smallest to get as much water has you can from one location to another.

It's an observation for which there could be many reasons. It could be that regulars who post on said media have been less successful,  or they may have not even tried for tickets. Or just maybe they can't be arsed to shout anymore they got em.

Our groups got 30% of tickets we were trying for which is about normal for coach sales for us.

As always I did not get in myself, 8.5 bars is as far as one browser got.

Laptops closer than phone.

Despite the 'boredom' of not being able to do anything I prefer this system and am very pleased we do not get a queue number even though it is annoying as that stops twunts selling them if they are a low number.

Maybe it's a silver lining if more tickets have gone to less social media orientated people.

There are precious few secrets at Glastonbury these days - everyone knows everything and we are getting fewer of those surprising Glastonbury moments now. Everyone knows every secret set, every secret bar and every little thing so they can't really do it any more.

Imagine if QOTSA in the Cabaret tent actually happened?

What did we learn about multiple tabs / devices / browsers ahead of Sunday? I’ve not heard many complain that they were identified as a bot so I’m guess it’s best to gear up with as many windows as possible for Sunday?

Seen a few videos on tik tok of successful people with 2/3 browser windows open!

need more people to confirm it before I do it.

also saw someone say, when one tab was near the end of the line, they closed all the other tabs to ensure no issues
