Just a thought - consider upgrading your browser tonight B4 the sale tomorrow, maybe WindowsbUpdates too. You don't want that interrupting things or hogging bandwidth. May also have the benefit of the system giving your browser a better 'score' tomorrow as well.

That's what a queue is....

The thing is, I was on the page an hour before, with the countdown timer.  I did not refresh at all and the page changed at 6pm to the progress bar, but the calculation was that I would wait 10 hours.  In what way is it a queue if people who were ALSO doing the same were allotted a time of 2 minutes.  It's not a queue but a random number generator in that case.

My point precisely.

But it doesn't matter WHEN you join the waiting room, the QueueID is randomly assigned a place at 9am (or 6pm on Thursday). Being on the page an hour before did not mean you were first in the queue.

You could be assigned 1 minute, 1 hour or 10 hours at 9am, regardless of when you went onto the waiting list.

The queue is only the queue at 9am. That's why it's a waiting room before 9am.

No sh*t Sherlock. As I said, your fate is decided at 9 when the big red button is pressed.

I have a memory of the holding page a few years ago saying that the website is busy and you will be held in a queue.  They changed it a couple of years ago to more accurately say you are being held at this page.  But I can't find any evidence to back up this memory.

if they could call that a queue, I guess they can call this lottery system a queue too.

Personally I turn off all security settings in browser for the site too - allow cookies etc. Let it do its thing, then can always set back later.

Could you possibly elaborate? I always delete all cookies to do with see and glasto before trying. Now you're saying "allow cookies"? And what security settings shoud I be turning off?

I'm debating whether to risk getting seen as a bot tomorrow by having a desktop and a laptop going through the same wifi connection. Different browsers. What do people think? Too risky?

You can also see, if you delve deep enough, a field called "estimated time of arrival on site" - but it appears this is likely to be wildly inaccurate and so not much help.

Think it gets more accurate as you get towards the front. On Thurs my husband had estimated time of 18:20, and it gradually creeped earlier (presumably as people dropped out). Ended up as 18:16, which is when he got in.

After he got tickets he went back to the back of the queue, had an estimated time of May 2025 😂

Is that info  just viewed through developer options on the browser or are you getting it somewhere else?

Struggling to find the exact info,

Just finalising ticket groups, I have some spare spaces that could allow two people to be in two different groups. I'm trying to give them the best opportunity to get tickets.

What are the risks of this? Is it only their reg numbers that could potentially get locked?

Its a tight group of friends all on a group chat so we can easily send a message out if someone gets through to the booking page and let people know not to input these reg numbers.

Thanks,

Default security is greater in browsers these days. Allow it to do what ever it needs to do cookie wise in case it's designed to rely upon them.

Thanks,

You enter the registration details for the (upto) 6 people in on the 1st/2nd (?) page when you get in. If numbers have already been used/ are currently being used, then they will be rejected and you will not be able to move forward until you have taken them out. It will just list them as being an issue with the number/ cant find the number (something along those lines). You wont be kicked out, you will have the chance to take them out and move forward without them. It is risky as it takes up valuable time, however is doable if you have good constant communication, which also can waste valuable time.

Google docs is a great way to manage it as it can be updated live

Are the deposits non refundable? Someone in our group unsure about getting the time off work just yet.

They auto refund if you dont pay off the ticket minus something like £25 (think thats what it was last year anyway). If the deposit is £75, -£25, refund of around £50
