Ticket tips and Tricks for 2025 festival

7 groups of 6 in our team and only 3 got tickets. Not including my group. Completely gutted.

Worked out that we had around 200 devices in the queue and only 3 got in. That’s some shite odds.

Got to 27 bars and then sold out. Been since 2022.

Someone cheer me up please. I’ve had such an awful year and worried about next year and this was a little beacon of hope. Feel like a dog has died.

could anyone give best advice about volunteering as an option?

The feeling passes. I have missed way more festival than I have attended.

I probably have a 30-35% success rate since 2004. It's definitely much much harder now to get them as the popularity of the festival is probably at an all time high.

Go to another festival and experience something new. Glasto on the BBC is still fun too.

No luck for our group of 6! I got the furthest on my work phone which I’d been refreshing  regularly, and this seemed to be the only way to get the bars moving. Got to almost 8 so was still a way off when I got kicked out with unusual activity detected message. My other phone, laptop on WiFi and most of our group stayed stuck on 2 bars.

I’ve made peace with it tbh, and I’d never reached the booking page myself on the old system either! Hopefully lots of newbies get to go this year.

Sounds like it wasn’t as smooth technically as Thursdays sale.. people being routed to random pages, access denied in submission a lot.. spurious sold out messages.

How did the second half of the tickets sell out so quickly? Unless they were slow putting the “half sold out” message up maybe?

Our group got 40% success rate.. will be trying again in the resale.  Congrats to those who managed to get tickets today.

I have resigned myself to the fact I'm probably never going to go again now. I will be 42 by the time 2027 comes around. But had some of the best moments in my life on the 5 occasions I have been.

I am 46 and went for the first time this year. I will still aim for tickets when I'll be 49 in 2027.

Age is a cultural construct and just a number!

I get that it’s hard to not be able to get tickets this way. It also seems that you’re going through a tough time and this is not making it any easier. I do want to stress that, if this feeling of sadness from the ticket sales persists the coming days it might be wise to talk to someone that’s educated to help you through rough patches of life. Whilst this might be a trigger for something bigger, someone that knows something about that can do wonders to get you through it.

Virtual hugs to you. Whatever you’re going through you will get through it!

I've spoke to someone who managed to buy 54 tickets.

To be fair they had 80 computers at their office trying and got on with two of them, however the clicking back and getting more is not on imo.

I thought it blocked people using lots of tabs from same IP?

I heard rumours the back button was working for some.. maybe that’s why it sold out quicker.. it didn’t work for us.. I guess I took the full 10 mins on my transaction.

I'm sorry but I'm not buying the 'it doesn't reward dedicated people' line. Everyone is dedicated in their own ways and this festival isn't for the same 150k every single year. Nobody outside of the Eavis family has the god given right to be there every single year.

Glastonbury is one of the best things about this country and is a cultural behemoth. Everyone deserves to experience it at least once.

Bit of a straw man there. Don't think anyone thinks they have a god given right to be there.

It depends how you define "fair" I suppose. It certainly makes it easier for people who maybe couldn't be arsed under the old system or gave up early or were half arsed about refreshing etc as the system is now passive and you just sit and wait. And the trade off is that for people who were determined and had multiple tabs and devices etc and were refreshing on rotation, that no longer increases their chances to the same degree as it's more of a lottery.

Consequently I'd guess there will be more noobs and I would guess young people getting tickets and the older veterans are probably less likely to get tickets. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, depends on your perspective. Great that more people will get to experience the festival but the other side of the coin may be that the culture of the festival shifts slightly to be more like other festivals. I wonder what that might do to the late night dance areas as well for crowding/ capacity issues.

Congrats to anyone who got tickets anyway. 2025 festival is 4 days after my wedding so will probably just make other plans now. See you in November 2026!
