Won’t it prevent mobile access as they use dynamic IPs

Fred Zepplin
Awful news. We didn’t get tickets last year with 6 of us trying none stop and with this our chances have gone down massively

devli
Delighted with this, much more fair. There will still be a slight workaround to the one device thing with just using a different VPN on each device.
SilverLining
BOOOOO GLASTONBURY BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My excitement for the festival has now went down massively and surely this will just cause the crowd to be more and more diluted with bams.
dotdash79
Just resigned myself to not going now, at least with F5 you had some control of the situation, even if you didn’t. But being sat there waiting is going to be a killer.
Long Drop
Well there goes my plan of using multiple browsers to generate new queue IDs. How strict do we think the ip address limit will be? There will be proportion of glasto goers that are unaware of what an ip address is. Their setup could be something like 2 laptops, 1 ipad and a phone. I can't see that being enough to trigger a block. ip block is there to stop people gaming the system, how far do we push it? I'll be testing it with quite a few browser sessions on the coach sale, then obtain a new ip / clear cookies for the main sale.
Mash2
From the faq... "Whilst we understand that everyone wants to have the best possible chance of booking a ticket, running multiple devices or tabs simultaneously to attempt to access the website may lead to your IP address being blocked, preventing you from buying a ticket. The same applies to sharing cookies and QueueIDs. Refreshing the page, using multiple tabs or many devices can look like suspicious behaviour and can harm your chances of getting through by triggering anti-bot software; therefore you must stick to one tab/device per IP address and please do not refresh your page once you are in the queue". So you can still have as many queues as you do devices. Actually on second thought VPN won't work at all because there will be people all over the country using that IP 😂 Edited November 5, 2024 by devli

My assumption would be that there'd be a point where it looks less like a couple of people in the same household trying to get tickets and more like a DOS attack. And a block would be implemented somewhere in between.
CantWaitForGlasto22
Does anyone know if you have a mobile on data (not WiFi) and a laptop on WiFi if it counts as one IP address or two? I’m so crap at this type of thing. Struggled in Coldplay and Oasis sales with computer thinking I was a bot just because I had laptop, iPad and iPhone all trying (so not crazy number of devices) and don’t want a repeat…
