Crap. Trying to explain to my group how this is potentially really bad news. It's fine if you're assigned a low number, but if you're above maybe 350,00 in the general sale (accounting for connection drops and failed payments) you have zero chance. At least with the previous method you could control how much you were competing for a space.

We don't know. People aint going to listen to the one device per user instruction (they never did with the previous system) so there could be 350,000 in the queue, but within that are many multiple sessions for people within individual groups.

It's impossible to know how long this sale is going to take....

I don't mind the change too much, If I'm meant to be there, I'm meant to be there, F5 or not. My big concern with it will be the reliability of waiting for four hours, finally getting through, putting your details in, only to get kicked out. That would be horrendous. And I really foresee many instances of this happening, just like it did for the Oasis sale. And let's be honest, t-day history is littered with this being the case.

Delighted with this, much more fair. There will still be a slight workaround to the one device thing with just using a different VPN on each device.

don't think so as you will be sharing the vpn ip with tons of other people

That's true, but per device once you join the queue your fate is effectively sealed - there isn't anything you can do to improve your chances aside joining multiple times, as you say. It would be worse if they enforced the Ticketmaster strategy of one device per person.

I'm very very glad that I have a good chance of volunteering again this year. Not happy about the change but we've known there was a good chance it was coming.

Some of the same rules apply. Get a group of six with everyone trying. If someone in the group gets through then everyone else tries for other groups. Hopefully on that basis the demographic won't change that much as planning is still rewarded.

Question for those who seem to have an inside track... How are they going to deal with CGNAT? I presume they'll have to whitelist addresses for those to allow multiple Queue ID's for a single ip. Also wondering about Azure VM's. If they blacklist VPN's I wonder if they do the same for Azure address ranges.

Tried an azure VM for Sam fender and 3 out of the 4 tabs I used got blocked the moment the queue opened. Assumed it was because I was on the VM not the multiple tabs... But will try again with one tab maybe just to see

Gutted doesn't cover it, can't believe they've done this.

The worst part of this is the number of times I have followed all the rules for ticket buying Queue-IT situations, then have been randomly identified as a bot for no apparently reason and been kicked out after waiting for a huge queue to tick down. Literally happened for Oasis.

In truth, it's a much fairer system.

It makes it easier for those with big followership to generate help (even paid help) to acquire them a ticket.

Plus, I think it's fairer to reward those who go to the effort of organising and work hard refreshing for tickets than those who stop after 5 mins to complain. It's the modern day equivalent of queuing up overnight outside the music store.

On the flip side imagine the relief of seeing queue number 1,000 popping up at 9:01AM, positive mindset till next Sunday...

If we use their own screenshot as an example, you won’t get a queue number at all. You’ll just be in the queue until you’re not.

Speaking as someone who hasn't been successful at getting tickets since 2017, I don't know if this change will be good or bad for me.  Over the years I've tried auto refresh, manual refresh, multiple browsers, multiple sessions, mutiple IP addresses, VPNs, even locked glastonbury.seetickets.com to specific IPs via hosts file.  The only thing I haven't tried is joining a ticket syndicate, and that's because there's only me in my group of 6 who would actually know what to do and would therefore not be pulling their weight for the syndicate.  Let's see what happens this year.
