Discord groups are offering "guaranteed" tickets as of today and I have already seen evidence of this.

Yes, there will be total strangers trying to do this through twitter and make a quick buck that fail or don't have any success, but there will also be huge, massively organised groups that are already putting in framework and selling "guaranteed tickets" that will absolutely clean up from their finders fees. From my experience, those offering slots for a high ticket item like Glastonbury will be founders or proven members of said groups, meaning there is already an element of trust AND a guaranteed refund in the event of failure.

These groups require a monthly paid membership and if you haven't any experience utilising these groups, you really can't imagine HOW organised they are and how successful they are. I have first hand experience using them after losing my job during covid and made enough money that I decided to do it full time, but felt burnt out after a couple of months as you constantly need to be glued to your PC/Phone in order to make decent money.

How do we get your IP banned from queues knowing your history

So, you worked basically as a full time ticket tout in a sense? 😅

This would put environments such as University halls at a massive disadvantage where there could be dozens, if not hundreds, of connections hitting See with the same external IP address.

It's pretty certain therefore that See are aware of that and inspect packets at a lower level than simply IP, possibly at Port number as each connection would have a different Port number and would therefore be seen as different devices.

But only up to 65535 clients..

Is a queuing system, with massive spike at 9am-ish,  easier on their system rather than everyone f5ing every second for a couple of hours?

There won't be a massive spike at 0900.  The 'waiting rooms' are handled on separate infrastructure by Queue-It (who say they can handle 500 million across their datacentres). At 0900 Queue-It will then feed the queue to See in order, and at a rate that the See infrastructure can process efficiently and effectively, hence avoiding any bottleneck (at least that's their theory....).

Funnily enough there was no demand for concert tickets during covid, so nope I was not a full time ticket tout!
These groups are often built around retail arbitrage or finding limited/hard to source items. I made money from selling stuff like tents, outdoor furniture, hot tubs, graphics cards, computers, games consoles, fashion, snacks, pretty much the only thing I didn't sell was tickets!

I know the exact same thing happened for Oasis and will undoubtedly happen again for Glastonbury. The prices are always excessive so I won't be paying, I'll just be using a handful of devices and hoping for the best like most.

So you're one of the ones I was competing with for a Lazy Spa during the height of Covid 2021 and a PS5 when you could get them on AO only by changing the product code? 😃

Just cos people are offering does not mean to say they will get custom - the majority, especially those who know about how to get tickets, will not go with them.

Also a ;guaranteed refund' does not mean you get a refund....... that's how scammers work

So, the queue will hit 2 million about half a second after 9am Sunday, a huge percentage will be people 'holding a place' to tout once they get close, and we'll be managing/watching the queue all day instead of the usual 20mins to 1hour and it's over lark.

Can't see anything here to make me feel better about the new arrangement. I experienced the hell of this system for the Oasis tix....

Can't see it taking much longer than previous myself.

Sorry if you’ve discussed this already, but people on Twitter are saying you now need to be signed into SeeTickets beforehand. Can someone confirm if this true?

Not sure there is a way to sign into See from Glastonbury.seetickets.com

Can't hurt to sign into See from their home page though

With all due respect, if you'd had any experience using these groups you'd probably think quite differently.

They will 100% get custom and they're definitely not scammers. Even if the entire group only get 30 queue slots that are saleable (they will almost definitely get more), thats over £30k in "finders fees" for a few hours work.

Hmm - I suppose if they feed the transaction end of the system from the queueing / session end at the same rate as was previously the case with F5, then it could be a similar duration, yes.

I think these groups (not that I know much about them) also do it for thrill of the chase and love of the game - it's like a small, passionate community. So if anything perhaps making money from it is a majorly advantageous by-product of what is effectively a hobby.

Effectively selling the queue position rather than the physical ticket, but still another modern form of touting isn't it? Is it possible this operation could account for the greater part of the actual operating queue during the sale?

Yeah I guess it's essentially still touting, but you're selling a slot or a service as opposed to an actual product which is where the difference lies. I'd wager the tools such groups use will constantly change and adapt to avoid See/Ticketmasters bot prevention system, but for something like this Glastonbury sale it's probably really simple. Loads of physical devices, loads of emulated devices using servers and various sims/esims/data hotspots to ensure their IP's aren't getting flagged.

They might have 80-100 devices but get 0 saleable slots, meaning they've artificially inflated the amount of entries/demands. They could have 80-100 devices and get 100 slots to sell, it's still going to be luck based but they can definitely tip the odds in their favour by the sheer scale of entries they can create vs the average person.

Important to remember though, all Glastonbury TRULY cares about is selling their tickets out and this will happen either way.

If the queue positions are unnumbered how does anyone know if they're selling / buying a good one or a bad one?

Glastonbury were kind enough to include screenshots that includes a green bar which show your progress, which will be enough to mobilise these groups into action and put plans in place for next Sunday. Even in the event that Glastonbury doesn't use progress bars or numbers for queue position on the day, they will simply reduce their price and market the sale less, and make it "ticket or your money back".

They'll be guessing only on the position of the sliding scale graphic, which we are assuming is a reasonable representation of where you are in relation to everybody else.  The problem is that even if you are 90% of the way up the scale there could still be 100,000 people in front of you if a million devices have got a position.

Hahaha, was just pondering religious parallels.

yoid the think the Eavii, being Methodists and that, would put a premium on hard work, on the ceaseless toil that is hammering away at the F5

whereas this queue and the chosen ones allowed to enter the gates of heaven before they do  anything, and it all being decided arbitrarily, well it all stinks of predestination and has the stench of Popery about it!

so for bus sale at what point do we go in the queue ? before the selection of days ?

I would guess everthing else will be exactly the same as always. it's just the getting on the booking page that has changed.

When might we expect Glastonbury.seetickets.com will go live? (I know it shouldn’t make any difference if you join early or late).

Reason I’m asking is I’m very familiar with a large French annual sports online system, they claim it’s random but it doesn’t always work that way, it allows you to join the queue hours before the sale time and the earlier you join the better the queue position to at least some degree.
