I presume Primal Scream aren't headlining this? I can't see Travis or Bloc Party going below Wombats or TLDP.

TBH, feels like there should be one more headliner. Wombats subbed 2 years ago and are subbing Courteeners at Kendal this year, so probably the same here. Presumably TLDP will sub the Prodigy, same as Kendal too. Madness/Primal Scream for the 3rd day...

Is the 'hard life' one a red herring - could it be a clue to someone bigger?

Bizarrely, Hard Life is the new name for Easy Life after the threat of legal action from the Easyjet Group who launched action against the for the name being too similar !
