Tramlines 2025

I reckon there will be one curveball on here somewhere at the top - an act that make you goes "hell, now that's something."

But I'm struggling to think who it could be.

Fingers crossed. I'd love to carry on supporting Tramlines if I can, having been going since the early days.

Self Esteem is beginning to make some murmurs about new music. If they put her on with someone like Wolf Alice as headline, I'd be all over it.

Doves are coming out of retirement too, but I'd want more than them.

Sting or Iggy would be amazing curve balls, but not sure they'd do Superstruct events.

Self-Esteem's stock has soared, and has the local factor too. I could see her getting a very meaty spot, providing the commercial ball hasn't been dropped there.

If I vaguely remember she was on T'Other headline last time - 2-3 years ago?

The RnR event at Don Valley last year with SE headline and Confidence Man support was superb. Only around 50% full though (c. 5k), but very heavy touring in the run-up, including Sheffield. Strong  female / gay  audience too, so that is slightly at odds with Tramlines to date, which can have more of a blokey feel for the lineups overall.

Hopefully first announcement before Xmas anyway.

Think so, though my memory is hazy without looking.

Is RNR Circus a 10k capacity? Thought it was less for some reason.

Somewhere around 8-10 I believe. They rejigged the site this year, so difficult to gauge.

Interesting. I saw a show at the bowl a few years ago which had undersold, but it was still pretty close to being full. Was told it was about 10,000 then, I think.

Any clues from the Kendal Calling line up as usually some crossover.

Personally can't see any of the three headliners being at Tramlines - maybe Fat Boy Slim at a push.   Courteeners have headlined twice so surely not a third time.

I'm thinking they might go for Fat Boy Slim on Sunday. Wouldn't be surprised at Travis on T'Other or sub, would like to see Corrine Bailey Rae, Scouting for Girls will most likely crop up, and of course, it's likely Rev will be back

Rev may not be back what with doing Rock n Roll Circus.  Would deffo take Frank Turner, The K's, Royston Club and Last Dinner Party.

Slightly off topic, but I know some here will be interested... planning has been submitted to remove RAAC and instal new roof on the O2 Academy. I guess we still might be a year away, but it is progress.

Been more than happy with Octagon Centre as an alternative.

Sheffield really needs a new mid range venue though in the Centre.

Yeah, the Octagon is a good venue, but limited timeslots available due to their diverse range of events.

I don't mind if the O2 reopens or we get a new one, but wish it would get sorted sooner rather than later.

I know some may not like it, but I do think it could be time for Reytons to headline. Someone said it earlier about them not having a South Yorkshire date on their tour, and after selling out Clifton Park this seems like the next step up for them. Day tickets would sell very well for them I would imagine, and I definitely think they could do it. First saw them when they last played Tramlines 2021 and they were one of the best acts that weekend for me

I'd rather see Reytons on a bill than tbe same old rotated indie rubbish. Reytons and Gerry for me would be quite fresh. Courteeners and TDCC for example would be like bore off.
