Tramlines 2025

Everybody know bs everybody likes I think is the major difference. You could probably take Killed The Director, Dance to Joy Division and Moving to New York out of a Wombats set and for me that is virtually then dead and unknown.

But that's also true of loads of previous Tramlines/Y Not headliners - bands/artists with 3-5 well-known songs (Wombats also have Greek Tragedy, Tokyo, Techo Fan and Turn which I'd say a good few non-fans would know) and a setlist of otherwise unknown. Just don't really understand why Wombats aren't at that level when Paolo Nutini or Jamie T are.

Sounds like a repeat of the Jamie T set if remove Sheila, Sticks and Stones and Zombie.

Who were absolute disasters of a booking.  Having said that I the little I have heard of Wombats are much better than those two - plus they are mates with my favourite band Red Rum Club.

Sure, I'm not saying Wombats would be considered a "get" or a headliner that would make people say "How did they manage to get them?" or anything, just saying I don't really see the reason why they've never been able to take that step up when you look at some of the previous headliners at Tramlines/Y Not who are of similar size/popularity. But again, I'm a huge fan so will acknowledge it's hard to accurately judge how "big" they are because in my world they're an elite booking at any festival.

I'm like that with Red Rum Club, The K's, Inhaler and Blossoms.

Hopefully not as they subbed in 2022, could The Libertines do it or are they too indie for that? Other names I was thinking of maybe someone like The Script?

I see Libs as more Friday night. Someone like Weller would be good - he did Y Not Sunday in 23

Not an obvious shout, but if they'd gone around in 2025, I'd wonder if New Order would fit the bill.

NO would be awesome, but don't seem to do too many festivals lately. Other options those who seem to be active next year... Sting, Jamiroquai, Stereophonics (last time was 2018)...

I wouldn't even put Yokyo in that lot but I'd absolutely have The Wombats over Jamie T, Nutini. But I'm not having them as a headliner but theg were alright on Friday night of Y Not. Little run of Reytons, Wombats and Royal Blood. You couldn't get much better than that fest for price.

I would take any of them, Zombie at a push. Don't like Jamie T haha
