2025 - 20th Anniversary

This could go a couple of different ways. If it goes the Courteneers, Cinnamon, Fatboy Slim route, that will be a let down for me.
If it’s a mix of Pulp, Doves, Maccabees or Biffy Clyro, we could be in for a treat.
Interesting few days ahead!

I have it from a good source that the  headliners are.

Friday - Kasabian

Saturday - Gerry cinnamon

Sunday - Zach bryan

If true that will be some weekend.

Feels too soon for Kasabian to be back. I think they’ll have the courteeners booked.

Kasabian being back that soon just isn’t going to happen, Zach Bryan I imagine is over here for the events that can pay him the most (like Hyde Park) and maybe the odd promotional gig like Glastonbury, I can’t imagine Kendal can afford him

Although I’m expecting a bigger line up than usual, right now i’m thinking:

Fatboy Slim / The Prodigy / Biffy Clyro or Fontaines DC / Courteeners

1. Well Loved Legacy Band: James/Suede

2. Younger Band Stepping Up: Fontaines D.C./Wolf Alice

3. Arena Band: Stereophonics/Elbow

4. Solo Artist: Florence and the Machine (I’m counting this since she keeps getting nominated for best British female at the Brits?)

5. Wild Card: Biffy Clyro/Pulp

6. Someone you really don’t want to headline: Gerry Cinnamon/Courteeners

I’m just really hoping that they’ve gone all out for the 20th anniversary, tried to splash out a bit and give us a proper varied line up outside of the usual names that trudge around the circuit. I feel like Gerry C is definitely one of the headliners as he’s playing NBHD and it seems like he’s part of the Co-ordinated announcement on Friday, but I would love for them to have gone for something like

Headliners: Doves (Thursday) / Fontaines D.C. / The Chemical Brothers or The Prodigy / Biffy Clyro (or a similarly big band)

Maybe a Special Guest like MSP or Suede

Undercard: Franz Ferdinand / Editors / Maximo Park / Yard Act / Fat Dog / Natasha Bedingfield / Razorlight / Chloe Slater / Sea Girls

That’s just off the top of my head after a brief look of what’s about. Would need loads more female acts for balance but I can’t find as many rumours for who is about. Just hoping it’s a good one man.

That would be rubbish personally. I'd expect Kendall to do better than that.

That trio would have me extremely tempted. I'd be surprised of Kendall could pull it off though.

I wouldn't call Elbow an arena band now. I think that choice of headliners is too big.

I did wonder if they could be considered that looking at the dates they are playing next year. But still did a tour of fairly big arenas in the Spring this year and I think they would still headline here. I know realstically it's not going to be what I'm hoping for, I'm just hoping that they've tried to be a bit ambitious for the 20th Anniversary

Manics, Pulp and Sting would be mad.

Would have to be a very well balanced lineup underneath that to stop me selling my presale tickets if this is the headliners! Only Kasabian for me, and even then that'd be too soon. Considering they've sold around 60% of tickets without a lineup to a bunch of people who think The Lottery Winners should headline, Zach Bryan would be the emptiest Sunday at Kendal yet. And that has some competition...

I reckon Kasabian might have outgrown this again anyways.

Manics could probably still do Thursday as a headliner. Need to remember they were billed co headliner with Doves when they played under them.

They'd be mental not to get Cinnamon if he is indeed about.

The Lottery Winners can f**k all the way off.

I’m hoping that the festival books one of Fontaines DC or Wunderhorse, if not both, Fontaines would be a definite headliner now with their shows at Finsbury and Wythenshawe and would no doubt be phenomenal.

Wunderhorse on the other hand were booked to headline the third stage a few years back when they released Cub, they unfortunately didn’t end up playing and were replaced by Cassia i think? Surely off the back of Midas they’d be commanding a much higher slot

I reckon Wunderhorse will definitely be on, can be anywhere across the main stage and it seem about right.

Fontaines too big maybe now?

predictions game! Build 4 headliners from the following: 2picks from every category

1. Well loved Legacy Band:

This might seem a bit out there, but your mid-2000s NME type bands are probably considered legacy now, so on that since they are having a small live resurgence... Bloc Party

Alternatively... Pixies?

2. Younger band stepping up/ establishing headline status: Wolf Alice / Fontaines DC

3. Proven and established Band that can still fill large venues (arenas):

Biffy Clyro / Florence and the Machine

4. Solo Artist:

Gerry Cinnamon / Alanis Morissette

5. Wild Card Headliner:

LCD Soundsystem / Massive Attack

6. Someone who could headline, but you really don’t want them to:

The Courteeners / Stereophonics (both would seem 'easy/lazy' options, IMO)

Would Bloc Party be ruled out by their Manchester date in July?

I'm amazed Pixies haven't done it, but they have just announced a US tour until 1st August, so they're out of the running.

My guesses would be Doves, Gerry Cinnamon, Libertines and Biffy.

An undercard with the darkness, coral, frank turner, shed seven would be great.

Yeah definitely fake, Sam Fender is at the point of his career where unless Kendal throw the entire festival budget at him then it won’t be worth his time, Black Keys playing on the Thursday and not headlining isn’t happening either.

The big give away is that Sundara Karma have split and are playing their last shows at the end of this year anyways
