Great to get Lisa O'Neill after she couldn't make this year; her gig at Halifax Minster was the best thing I saw in 2023.

Saw her last night at the Barbican with an orchestra... it was incredible! Reckon she could headline a stage with that show. I'll be delighted to see her in the daytime though. Hopefully in the same Garden slot from last year.

Now that 2025 is underway: who do we predict will be added to this year's lineup?

ย

The festival posted a Squid interview on their IG stories a week or two ago so with a new album coming I'd guess they're back, maybe even Garden headliner.

ย

Not a lot else suggesting itself yet but from the Psych Fest line-ups I'd expect George Clanton and Anna Erhard.

Well, hopefully not too long a wait for some more names. The announcement already made listed 18 acts. Last year's announcement was at the end of the first week in February, and was 100+ acts. A top-up to redress the balance shouldn't be far off. Obviously there's a headliner space reserved for Allo Darlin', who are back on the road later this year. Understandably there was utter pandemonium at Taffe Towers with the new album still unreleased by the August bank holiday last year.

A few of my guesses/hopes: Mabe Fratti, Fievel Is Glauque, Dean Rodney Jr. & The Cowboys, Naima Bock, Moin, Horsegirl, Shovel Dance Collective, Astride Sonne & Moor Mother.

Fievel won't / can't afford to / have said they aren't touring outside the US for a while. Large band with members distributed across the US and Europe. Logistically challenging...

Hadn't seen that. Such a shame, a brilliant band. I am lucky enough to have caught them previously.

Blondshell as announced UK tour starting on 2nd September must be playing eotr

ย

I would caution that there seems to be a touring act from the US every year that starts a UK tour a few days after EOTR (or during it in Jeffrey Lewis' case) and doesn't play. Even Wilco one recent year.

Hoping for any of The Weather Station, Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, Mogwai, Kelly Lee Owens, Nilufer Yanya, This is Lorelei, Moin, Godspeed (thatโ€™s todays list anyway). Would also like to see Nourished By Time back. Canโ€™t be long now before an announcement is made?!

Another Manchester Psych Fest announcement including a few EOTR staplesย

ย

โ€œAfter last monthโ€™s first lineup reveal, Psych Fest has added a huge tranch of new names, including critically-acclaimed singer-songwriterย Nadine Shah, Manchester synth-pop band W.H. Lung, psych legendsย Gong, Melbourne rockersย Tropical f**k Storm,ย Seattle alt-rock favouritesย Chastity Belt,ย the multi-talentedย Du Blonde, Canadian dance-rock outfitย La Sรฉcuritรฉ, dream-pop duoย dearyย and genre-pushing bandย Famous.

But the organisers arenโ€™t stopping there, with more names such as Hindustani psych rock fromย Karma Sheen, London-based punksย Ghost Carย and Irish trioย Adore,ย eclectic post-punksย Rabbitfootall joining a packed 2025 lineup topped byย Goat, Deadletter, George Clantonย among many others.โ€

Iโ€™d agree re Mogwai (somewhat wishful thinking on my part as I was listening to their new track at the time) but Iโ€™m not sure I follow the logic that the others wonโ€™t play because theyโ€™ve not been announced already - theyโ€™ve only announced 18 acts so far, and (perhaps with the exception of Goat and Mount Kimbie) to me the undercard do not look like obvious contenders for the headline slots on the garden stage or in the big top. Iโ€™d say Waxahatchee would be perfect for a garden headline slot (is playing at Hammersmith really going to rule that out?). Re MJ Lenderman, hadnโ€™t appreciated he is at Green Man, is that confirmed?

Nothing will be confirmed until March 1st in all likelihood but given he's in Europe (at Paredes de Coura) that weekend and GM reposted an IG Story of his a few weeks ago I'd say it's very likely.

It's not going to rule her out, just artists of that scale aren't usually headlining the garden. I'd have said they'd put their best foot forward with their first announcement. And on the history of this festival, I'd have said a lot of those acts would've been high up. I also doubt with their health Godspeed would come back to Europe so quickly (and I don't think they're big on festivals anyway)

I saw Good Looks in Leeds the other night. They were really good and I can imagine them playing EOTR, maybe low on the garden? Not sure if they'd be back to the UK so soon.

I'm also enthused by WH Lung on the psych fest lineup!

I saw them in London last week and they said they're planning on being in the UK four times this year, so festival season seems entirely possible. Agree that they would fit right in.

ย

W.H. Lung have played a couple of times before, in fact it was their Tipi show that turned me on to them. Seeing them again soon in Tunbridge Wells
