Based on past years, gut feelings or just good old fashioned tomfoolery - which date do you think Glastonbury Ticket Day will fall on this year?

We're toying with booking a week away during October half term but I'm petrified Ticket Day will fall whilst I'm out of the country.

What's the latest they ever announced the date?

Well, I cocked that up. I'm certain main ticket sale will be 10th November but I clicked on 13th October by mistake.

I did exactly the same.

As many (?most) people are paid at the end of the month sale seems to be at the beginning of the the month, Sunday after the first Thursday which is the coach sale.

I think it is now too late for beginning of October to be announced.

But "there is no pattern" so expect the unexpected

I've always wondered, why do you need to be in the UK for ticket day? assuming you own a mobile phone surely you can try anywhere.

Primarily so you can have your full setup with multiple screens and browsers to maximise your chances.

If you're away then chances are all you've got is your mobile, which probably only gives you one tab to refresh.

As @doogie says it's so I can have my full set up ready and be somewhere comfortable. Also I know where I'm at with my WiFi and 5G connections at home which I can't vouch for if I'm staying in a hotel or AirBnB.

We're a week after most school districts this year so holiday could potentially include November 3rd, which is what has given rise to my uneasiness.

Yes you can AFAIK

I’ve also heard a theory that it can be easier abroad

3rd of November would go against the past 20 years of pattern

It's been 1st Thursday for coach followed by 1st Sunday for general for a while. I can't see any reason why they'd swap back to October now.

2013: 20th June

2014: 16th September

2015: 15th September

2016: 18th September

2019: 17th September

2020: 17th September

2021: 25 August (confirmed no October sale)

2022: 21 January (when 21 fest cancelled, FAQ included note that resale for 2022 would be April 22)

When the sales took place first Thursday+Sunday in October, the alleged reason for that was to keep them in the same tax quarter.

October is the same tax quarter as November, so that reason wouldn't apply here.

My best guess is that they continue to keep both sales in the same month, but I don't think we can assume previous precedent (for October) to apply in a November sale.
