Way Out West 2025

Might as well start a thread for next year´s Way Out West. They just changed their logo on social media so hopefully it means we are approaching announcement season soon.

I am keeping an eye again for 2025. Not just for the festival, I feel I have so much more of Göteborg, and Sweden, to see. But I liked the festival size after doing a larger early summer festival.

 

I am excited for some more concrete 2025 news!

Glad you liked it this year! To be honest WOW usually starts announcing later in the autumn but by November we should at least have some one or two headliners in place.

Really liked it this year. Both the city and the festival really amazed me, so if the first names are good, I'll buy my tickets again.

First time for myself this year too. Feel totally hooked to Gothenburg and WoW now and going to be going back year on year. I was seriously tempted by the early bird tickets. Fingers crossed for some good names on the first drop

Bumping this thread just for the sake of it 😉 I assume we're getting closer to some lineup announcement? 

 

I've been thinking about doing Way Out West for years now. Always a solid lineup and Göteborg is a nice city (as far as I remember). Perhaps 2025 could be the year?

Good bump;) I had a great time this year and 2023 at the festival!

They are always a bit slow in starting their announcements but last year at least 2 headliners and a few undercards were announced before Christmas. 

 

WOW shares a lot of acts with Øya in Norway and Flow Festival in Finland so whenever any of those starts to announce artists we cannot be far from knowing more about next years line-up.

QOTSA are around in September, supporting Linkin Park in the States so they could be back on board.

Would be awesome if QOTSA (and also the Smile) could get a second chance. Other potential headliners could be Nick Cave or the Cure who both played the festival before. 

The Last Dinner party is also around those dates (though probably not as headliners).

Øyafestivalen is announcing something next week (got mail today), so I would expect WOW to also do that.

Syd for solen in Copenhagen in the same weekend is announcing the headliners next week, so we're getting closer.

So all the festivals who had QOTSA for this year, are announcing next week?

Did they explicitely say all headliners? You have a source? I just recognized that their social media is active again.

Don´t know about Syd for Solen but last year Way Out West announced several bands within the same week (Fred Again.., PJ Harvey, Pulp and QOTSA) so that´s what I hope they will do this year as well.

I think given the September date they've announced in the States there's got to be more than a good chance of it being them.

The second to last paragraph: "Next week we begin with the most important: the music and the announcement of the first headliners." 

 

Technically they don't say all the headliners, but at least some of them. Edit: Syd for solen, that is 😄
