To what. Not everyone needs to play the influencer game the Eavii have going. Artists know their worth, they will get it somewhere and wont need to tick a box in the process.

It's amusing that when you go on these rants, you try and paint the picture that Coachella gets all the good headliners because they pay more.  The reality is, they've all either played Glastonbury (sometimes not even on the main stage) or they just don't have the appeal here and aren't even popular enough to sell out Hyde Park etc.

CV tickets are definitely something they can get away with increasing a lot

They also bumped up deposit a lot in the same year. could see them both staying still for a while

Obviously not the same scale but Shambala just announced their freezing their 2024 price for next year, whilst campaigning the government to reduce the VAT on gig/ festival tickets to 5% from 20%.

Not only have they frozen general entry ticket prices, they’ve reduced sustainable travel ticket prices and introduced reduced ticket prices for 18 to 25 year olds.

Still leading the way in the UK festival scene

All well and good saying this, these are good things to do but the biggest acts this year were Bob Vylan, Sampa the great and Henge maybe?

Its very hard to compare with the major festivals / any that have a remote focus on getting bigger acts (so most of them).

The inability/reluctance to book big acts, especially “mainstream” acts (which ever it is, maybe both), makes for an interesting event, and possibly attracts attendees who are more fun, friendly, considerate and generally less “twatty”.

May this long continue.

For years I’ve been trying to decide (from my POV) which is better, Glastonbury or Shambala. This year I finally worked it out, it’s Shambala

There's nothing wrong with it - I am just saying that it makes the comparison on costs pointless

Artists aside, festivals don’t really benefit from many economies of scale. 10 toilets will get you a discount over hiring just 1 toilet, but if you need 5,000 then that’s a whole different problem.
