Missed this one earlier this week. If they sell them both out, that's 12,000 tickets in an old industrial town, which isn't too bad.

I saw this old article about Cuffe and Taylor earlier today. Explains a bit about how they got started, their strategy if you can call it that, and why the venues they use work so well (tl:dr people don't get much live music around those parts)

I will say that a lot of the bookings so far have been artists with very recent gigs just up the road in Leeds too. James and Pendulum both at the First Direct Arena this year, as were Texas and Simple Minds, while Rag'n'bone Man and The Saw Doctors both played the city's O2 Academy in the last week.

From that perspective, I understand why many feel that it is an underwhelming batch this time around.

My mind was picturing Ball, my hand typed Bublé! It's an age thing.

Ball and Boe? Now I would also be very down for that.

I saw Boe in Millennium Square a good few years ago - possibly nine - and it was a baffling seating arrangement. Can't have been more than 2,000 there if that - but he was in great form. Legged it into the crowd in the second half and started high-fiving every middle-aged woman in the vicinity, many of whom needed medical attention from the hysteria afterwards.

Sounds fun! According to their Twitter they just hit no 1 with their latest album, and doing media rounds in the morning, so seems very likely.

That looks like the business then. Assume the arena tour for spring next year has sold well, and pretty certain they've done SOAT before on the coast.

I would wonder how they'd do with a standing venue, mind you.
