From Roskilde I was expecting something a lot stronger than that… 2024 wasn’t exactly a strong festival year either.. so not great if things are looking like they are going to be even weaker in 2025. MK1
I believe the first names last year were also not that big...

If you look at the first announcement last time it’s pretty much the same (I’d argue that first announcement is actually bigger)

Some great names in there, I like that they always start with lots of smaller quality names. Somehow they managed to book the 3 acts from Primavera 2024 I most wanted to see but couldn't due to clashes: Beth Gibbons, Faye Webster and Jessica Pratt. mortand
I think it looks ok. Happy with Fontaines DC, Beth Gibbons, Faye Webster. Kassi Valazza and Thou might be interesting too. Wisp, that's the shoegaze revival TikTok-phenomenon, as far as I know. Have no idea what she's capable of, but why not? Definitely a better first announcement than last year's. Stormzy, Fontaines DC, Beth Gibbons (!), Faye Webster, Magdalena Bay, Thee Sacred Souls, Geordie Greep, Jessica Pratt are all lovely names. thetime
Decent announcement, better than expected for the 1st announcement. Beth Gibbons MO Fontaines.

The 12.15 - 12.50 slot and the clash with the orchestra thing didn't help her, but we were no more than 80-90 spectators, never seen such an empty tent. She had a sold out show in London the day after, anyways. Always strange how things may differ from a place to another...
FrogLobster
Personally, very strong announcement. No care for Stormzy but definetly will go see quite alot; Gibbons (!!!), Fontaines, The Hu, Mø, Magdalena, Electric Callboy, Geordie Greep (ex Black Midi). Such a mix of genres already! Love this fest for the variety; it's why I insta buy a ticket every year. 😄 Also a big fan of how Roskilde do these staggered mixed announcements; gives more focus to the undercard than just the big names in one go! In terms of other headliners: taking a guess at Nick Cave, Olivia Rodrigo, Fred Again (late night set), Black Pink. Maybe 1 big country singer aswell? willsmith700
Very weak line up. Fontaines and Electric Callboy are incredible, but Stormzy people just seem bored of nowadays.
FrogLobster
Just a reminder this is the first announcement of like 6; they fill the lineup over the year with more headliners and big acts etc. 😄 Not like other fests that drop majority of heavy hitters in one go. I'd hazard a guess Stormzy has a late night dance headliner playing after him; he's not that big in Denmark (last played the equivalent of London o2 at the very start of 2020). Oh, I thought it was a festival with just 6 acts.... *rolls eyes😆 You can only say what you see, it's a weak launch line up. But like most, will be something for everyone by the end no doubt. Even the likes of Rock Werchter have unrecognisable quality like they did 5 years ago. Festivals like Primavera, who personally have outstanding lineups is not so for 2025. Weak launch lineups could be a reoccurring theme in 2025. Although I quite like the initial announcement for Roskilde, but it isn't a wow. thetime
Researching since the announcement, Wisp are excellent. Reminds me of My Vitriol debut album.

charlierc
This a big Danish day for announcements? Given Green Day & Kylie Minogue announced for Tinderbox at the same time as Roskilde.

I thought they were locked in for either Roskilde or Copenhell (Denmark fests have a clause saying artists can't be shared in that year)

jonathansoegaard
Absolutely love this announcement - Best announcement for me personally in years. Fonatines DC and Fat Dog are instant must sees Electric Callboy and Snow Strippers will not be on my daily playlists, but surely crazy live experiences Faye Webster and Thee Sacred Souls will be perfect for sipping drinks in the sun (yes weather will be great) Geordie Greep will be whatever Geordie Greep is 😅 Beth Gibbons, Wisp, Magdalena Bay, Esy Tadesse is on rotation and might also make the cut. After his two extremely hyped and succesfull concerts in 2016 and 2018 Stormzy was due to return to the Orange stage at some point. If nothing very interesting is on I'll likely be there - 2018 was pretty cool. I already fear the clashes, but let's see what the next announcement brings along - Fearing the next one will have absolutely zero for me 😅
FrogLobster
2025 is also the first year they have a brand new Orange Stage; apparently much bigger than the last one 'to accommodate bigger productions'. The current one has charm but is dated, my guess is the new one is less vertically enclosed and has room for a large screen at the back. Also much larger screens on the side (currently too small, especially when you are further than halfway back in the field.

FrogLobster
Olivia was incredible on her arena tour at the start of the year. Very happy about that booking! Both Olivia and Jamie XX are on Orange stage Friday, so I'm guessing Jamie is doing the late night post-headliner slot? Deftones being booked is solid too. Hopefully in the Arena!
