Dales
I went to this for the first time this year as The Damned headlined and they are one of my favourite groups. They also had a few decent indie bands on the bill such as Inspiral Carpets, Cast, The Soup Dragons and The Sherlocks. There was a lot I liked on this years festival as well as those already mentioned they had The Stranglers, Ferocious Dog, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Farm and Republica. Compared to this year, the 2025 line up so far is shockingly poor.

Looks like maybe they're struggling for headliners and need some cash in the bank to be able to get those secured.
NorthernSoul52
The lack of a headliner so far will be part of the issue. If the budget has been splashed on someone in particular, it may well elevate it suitably.

Both points make sense, for these sized festival getting a reasonable headliner makes all the difference to its appeal and thats where a big chunk of the budget goes. Still looks a little odd not to have put one of the headliners on the first poster release but get that they would hope what they released would get some more money in. Yeah, a nice addition and not a name that you see on many lineups, so should do well for them. I am quiety pleased they are Friday headliners as I am in two minds about going to Slam Dunk on the Saturday. My thoughts were if I dont like the headliners for this, I will do Slam Dunk. As I like PIL and never seen them before it keeps my options open. I will see who else headlines and what the general lineup finally looks like once complete. NorthernSoul52
An interesting get. I wonder how Lydon is shaping up these days, especially with the rest of his old comrades blazing around with Frank Carter.

I saw PiL at a festival about 10-12 years ago, and the old tunes still make a good set. Plus, I got a cracking set of photos that day, as John has a 'characterful' set of facial expressions! I wonder if he's doing some of his more introspective newer stuff these days too?
NorthernSoul52
We'll see when the tour starts, I guess. A curious booking nevertheless.
