Come Together Festival 2025 - Newcastle

First announcement 9am tomorrow!

I’m hoping this fills the void left by This Is Tomorrow as I have absolutely no interest in LooseFest. I’ve seen various articles state that it’s a 45,000 capacity festival so hopefully some big names due.

4-8 June as well which is 5 days! I have a feeling this will have an All Points East feel to it in terms of how it’s booked.

Completely agree with that; I thought we’d hit the jackpot in 2019 with This Is Tomorrow and that we finally had a proper indie-landfill festival in the North East.

5 Days to me also suggests to me that it might be “5 mini days” rather than one big weekender with a fixed genre. 45k is a big capacity though, interested to see who gets announced

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam Fender is one of them given one of the press releases banged on about local culture and all that! But the 5 mini days seems logical. Hopefully I don’t like all 5 days because my bank account certainly wouldn’t be happy with that, nor would my legs 🤣

One of the names I heard rumoured for this was Robbie Williams but we will see what tomorrow brings.

Timing makes some sense with the world tour he’s just announced but you’d have thought they would have announced it alongside that

The friend that shared the Robbie information did so before the festival was announced publically (he said there would be a festival on the town moor next summer and Robbie would be playing) and has re-iterated since that he is a definite. They also said another name they were trying for was AC/DC but obviously they will be a lot harder to book due to known logistics and demands. They also confirmed it is indeed 5 day single day festivals. Never been in a position before to share this kind of information but kind of excited to see if it's correct or whether I've been played.

Very interesting! Looking forward to what comes of it all

The PR is touting UK and global artists, so sounds like it could be really interesting.

Fair play buddy, that's some great intel (crossing everything that the AC/DC gig comes off now!)

Could be great that we finally have a big series of gigs/day fests in the North East now. Robbie not necessarily my thing but that's a great indication of the size of things to come

Interested in the rest of the line up if this is the size act there are going for

Yep it’s Robbie. Hopefully this means some other “big” acts to be announced. Was originally hoping for a Bloc Party silent alarm day like Live at Leeds In The Park or Brighton Beach but maybe that’s too small now looking at this first headliner. Also would be shocked if Fender doesn’t do a day. Fontaines doing a Finsbury Park type lineup up here would go down well too IMO

It's been said in other threads, but Lottery Winners are getting everywhere. Rick Astley, Nickelback and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have had them as supports alone this year, and now they'll back up the Robster.

theyve clearly got good management. very varied support slots for about 18 months now  not my thing on the whole but admire their marketing strategy

I genuinely misread the Robbie Williams event on Tyneside as a one-off tbf. I guess this make-up, where it's like a BST Hyde Park or All Points East, lends itself to that feeling.

I do feel this is something they need to clear up. I’ve seen a lot of people in the comments of their socials tagging their friends who have then replied saying they’re not free for the full 5 days so can’t get a ticket despite the fact it states Wednesday and Wednesday only on the Robbie poster. They’re only selling tickets for the Robbie day atm. I think if people looked a little further they’d realise but the promoters could probably make it slightly more obvious.

EDIT: Just realised you said you thought it was a one off, so the above doesn’t really apply to your comment, apologies!

It's an excellent tactic. Will lay the ground very well for further success, at least as a live act.

Pricing seems very reasonable for this calibre of lineup. A bit over £80 for GA.

Appears to be a 'golden circle' at about double that which is annoying.  Hopefully they dont have that for every day

I’m finding it hard to think who could be in with a shout for the remaining 4 days, given there’s absolutely no precedent, but so far I think the below 4 are would cover most bases genre wise if that’s their aim:

- Sam Fender (probably the most obvious choice)

- Muse (around in June, no UK date yet)

- Charli XCX (no idea on availability, but decent shout for female pop act given Rodrigo, Carpenter, and Roan all are / will be appearing elsewhere)

- Calvin Harris or any other mainstream dance act
