Noisy few weeks round those parts tbf given the park where this festival is going is round the corner from SJP. Maybe they'll bring in SF to play a new NUFC stadium if one is opened within the next 5-6 years.
NorthernSoul52
Imagine Fender will be playing SJP or any replacement until he drops off the cliff, and even then, it might still be one to sway.
osymyso
Don't know where these ACDC rumours are coming from, but I was told by someone who knows someone who knows someone (don't they all) that it's almost across the line.

There's something quite admirable that in a world full of indistinguishable, mid-sized festivals, someone can just come along and in their first year bag one of the most notoriously difficult festival acts on Earth. NorthernSoul52
That would be quite the coup, though given BJ's roots, Newcastle's absence from touring plans always felt a bit strange.
NorthernSoul52
If St James' Park having Fender and this can lead to more big gigs for the north-east not at the Stadium of Light, all for it from a travel and logistics standpoint. I live next to the Stadium of light and it's amazing not to have to travel , it's not the far from Newcastle and I have to make the trip loads Only way Newcastle gets bigger gigs at St James is a massive development, it can't handle big productions Sunderland are getting a concert next year but no idea who, if I was to guess I would say the stones Edited November 26 by brettredmayne
NorthernSoul52
Would be about time. Stadium of Light pretty much the lone "regular" stadium stop for tours in the UK they've not played, or at least when it comes to a city anyway, this millennium. osymyso
Not part of this festival, but I'm all for scrapping The Hoppings and just getting great live music in Newcastle.

To be fair that’s Exhibition Park, so logistically you could have events there simultaneously to the Hoppings on the Moor, I guess (subject to no objections by council / police etc which they probably would given Hoppings is a rather large event). Given the Hopping’s had to downsize this year due to the top end of the site being rendered completely unusable by a festival that was 10 months prior (which in the end didn’t even go ahead), I’m surprised Crow Events haven’t had something to say about Come Together being a few weeks before… I’m guessing it will utilise same part of Moor as the Hoppings, so hopefully it doesn’t ruin the ground if bad weather as I quite like the Hoppings despite it being chav central! But I concur, glad to see more summer music events.
FeverDream
2nd headliner announcement tomorrow at 10am! Anyone know of any acts announcing stuff tomorrow? Edited 2 hours ago by FeverDream
Official SMan
Was tryna listen to the music and use that to guess but couldn't work it out. I had thought Fontaines but obvs this new announcement rules them out, although it does sound to be more indie/rock
