Glastonbury Festival provides excellent facilities for people with recognised accessible needs, including a complimentary Personal Assistant (PA) ticket for those who couldn’t attend the festival without the support of someone else. However they are unable to offer these facilities to temporary injuries - this includes broken bones, dodgy knees, bad backs and pregnancy etc….

Anyone wanting to use any of the Accessible Facilities must have a valid Nimbus Access Card which costs £15 for 3 years membership. This is valid for many other venues and attractions. If you don't want to shell out for a Nimbus Card there is a Digital Glastonbury Pass which is free. Without either of these your application can't be processed, even for car parking. Click here for  the application forms and to register to use the Accessible Facilities

I do highly recommend getting the Nimbus Access Card. My PA has accompanied me to many venues for free or with a modest booking fee.

There is a dedicated campsite called Spring Ground near the Woodsies Main (John Peel) Stage. Apply to use the Accessible Facilities as soon as you get tickets and the Accessible Team will send you the application form when it becomes available, this is usually in the New Year.

If you are taking a live in vehicle you can apply to pitch in Willow Ground, this is opposite Spring Ground. You will need to provide medical evidence as to why you are unable to camp should you need to take a live in vehicle. Pitches are subject to space so as above apply as soon as possible if you are fortunate in getting tickets.

There is also E21 Forward Campervan Site, as long as you can manage a rather steep hill jokingly named “The Hill of Death”. This is just outside Gate C. You need to have purchased an East Campervan Pass to pitch here and also have a Nimbus Card/Glastonbury Pass to apply. These passes are usually sold a few weeks after the main ticket sale. As with Willow Ground will also need to provide medical evidence as to why you are unable to camp if you need to take a live in vehicle. Both Willow Ground and E21 Forward Campervan can only provide space for campervan and caravans under 8 metres in length, if over you will have to go in the Bath & West Showground site.

There is lots of information on the Glastonbury Festival Website, and if you are trying for tickets I suggest you read this prior to buying a ticket. For example, if you buy a coach ticket, both you and your PA (If applicable) must take the coach. You also need to book a seat for your PA at the same time as booking your Combined Coach and Festival ticket. This also applies to any children aged 12 and under including babies in your group. Also remember you can’t buy a Campervan Pass if you have a coach ticket.

When buying tickets, if in any doubt (for example you don't have Nimbus application approval yet) buy a ticket for your PA. This will be refunded less the cancellation fee if your PA application is successful, as long as it's cancelled by the deadline which is usually in May.

The new system of using Nimbus to process all accessible customers' medical evidence was introduced for this year's festival and is a lot stricter than in previous years. A GP’s letter is no longer accepted as evidence.

If you need to use any of the Accessible Facilities. I recommend that you read the sections relevant to you in the link below.

This is broken down into different sections and covers  Access Ticket Information  Ticket Information Continued  Combined Coach Tickets  Registering for Access Facilities   Personal Assistant (PA)  Accessible Campsite  Campervan & Caravan Spaces  Sensory Calm Space Deaf Customers  Onsite Access Facilities  Site Layout and Distances  Access Map  Wheelchair Hire  Temporary Impairments   Blind/Visually Impaired Customers  BSL Version for Blind/Visually Impaired Customers  Travel & Arrival   Accessibility for Crew, Artists & Volunteers.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. I have been using the Accessible Facilities since 2011. Always in our caravan in either E21 and Spring Ground. I have also volunteered with Oxfam in 2022 and worked in the Spring Ground Accessible Arrivals Marquee. 😊AD_4nXdAR7sNW8wXiX6f_Mup6SqT3mLWVDDOZUpkxM2dKQzw3sDR6RZQrkWqBlAgFWf0WfbicnkZh88ZdsHinvo_HC95z9DSZ6EHNINv4OWkGP7b3WAnw4Y5TkXzET-KPpNh77nUPBea8Q?key=wVhzrn-gjsU4ccrqkV7CtqMi

Thank you for this reminder. I used my nimbus card last time I went two years ago and my cancer treatment is still ongoing and the neuropathy is only getting worse so hopefully I won’t have a problem  getting a companion ticket but this time I think we will buy one if we get lucky and claim it back. The absolutely only gripe I had with the whole  thing were the toilets no matter where  we used them the cleaning just wasn’t been done which is very hard when you are compromised. I don’t know if it was because there wasn’t enough around the site or if people that didn’t need them where using them. Otherwise the whole set up and support is amazing. Fingers crossed we all get lucky on Sunday and we are all in a good position to attend.

I favour the ones away from stages, especially behind a gate in traders areas. These are generally spotless! 😊

If you have the +1 symbol on your card then you shouldn't have any issues with the PA/Companion. Good luck in the sale.

Thank you for this. Haven’t applied for a Nimbus card before so that’ll be my task for the next couple of weeks. Any tips beyond those already on the links above would be appreciated.

Just to say compile all the evidence you can to back up your application, especially if you are applying for the +1 symbol. Well done and good luck!
