Latest admittance onto site?

Howdy peeps. Generally what is the latest you are allowed to arrive on site in the evening?. I’ve got it in my head that it’s 10pm for some reason. Is this the case or can you arrive later?.

 

Have a mate that (ticket permitting obviously) would be looking to arrive Thurs nite (after travelling from north west after work same day).

The gates are manned 24 hours.  Arrive and leave whenvever you like.

Once gates open I think they're 24/7 - or always have been previously.

I think it’s 8pm on a Sunday that’s the last arrival as the staff stop doing the wristbanding. Otherwise it’s open  24 hours from gate opening

Yep, albeit with some minor exceptions that are somewhat gate specific and not relevant in this case..

A 24 hour a day party, always open! No lock outs or folk hiding in the kitchen😉😊

My friend had to leave site and arrive late this year with no issues.

There's always a positive aspect to arriving on the Thursday. There will be zero queues and if one of your crew can either take his tent in or reserve him a spot then it should be entirely hassle free. 

 

Of course the downside is he may be parked at the other side of the world...

I have worked the gates believe me when they are open 24 hours lol -  Although you can go absolutely hours without anyone coming or going, Its actually quite funny when someone does come in and they turn the corner and see 50 odd staff of various organisations facing them bored and running out of banter. 

 

Although I would say - (make of this what you will). security will do a much thorough search of everyone who comes though at that tie cos they are bored.

Or, weirdly, be parked right opposite the gate! I went on the wednesday in 2010, parked bloody miles away as per usual, and my missus of the time drove down thursday - not sure how she managed it, but she got parked about 150 yards from gate A. Right result on the monday morning!

at gate A they open the field where the zig zag queue forms for parking once the field has been cleared of barriers and litter picked I think probably on the Thursday

That depends on the gate! 

Gate A has queues on Thursday, as coach arrivals continue. 

Gate C has queues every day Weds-Sun, once in morning and once at night with 20000 campervan people entering and leaving the festival.

Yeah I should have mentioned Gate C. Can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes.

 

I usually come through D but last time I used A (2016) was on a Thursday afternoon and I just walked straight in. It was bliss.

yeah Gate D is incredibly boring to work on after the initial ingress!

My friend who usually works Gate D says it was busier through the fest than usual this year. Not Gate C busy but there weren't any of the total dead times of previous years

I think the old CV West people did but can't remember, was years ago.

A) It's not genuine. 

B) There's external campsites outside all of the gates.  Good luck telling the upsold that they can't come in to the festival, come back tomorrow.

Yes a load of glamping sites have popped up in recent years on the Gate D side, so it probably is busier than it used to be.

Red Gate locks down from 22:00 to 08:00 unless you have an S pass or are on the pre-approved list, not that it will affect you lot using the ped gates lol
