I did, somehow

Top man. Where are you going from? Bham for me - first time ever on the coach. I typically pack SO much to go to glasto, so I'll have to reduce that heavily. Ecstatic to be going. Normally very particular with being in the early Wednesday queue, and have camped overnight on the Tuesday before to ensure I get the same camping spot every single year, but that's gone out the window now, I'm just grateful.

Ahh yes of course, is it through volunteering or other means? I have read recently how you get to glasto but can't quite remember. I am 100% going to volunteer inside the next 5 years and can't wait!

For the last 15 or so years it’s been as a volunteer, prior to that installing the long drops, Theatre and Circus crew, working on various stalls and in the early days sneaking in.

Us too!! We’re going from Birmingham too. Did it in 2015 which was about six months before I met the person who is now my wife, so have spent the evening thinking about how much my life has changed in the ten years since I last set foot on the farm. Incredibly excited.

Superb. You could write a cracking Glasto-memoir. Just don't give your music opinions on the way....

😉✌️

Bloody hell, that's brilliant! I assume the departure times get released next year? Is there a horrible chance it could end up being like 3pm on the weds, pot luck?

Someone different. So one mate (Kei), who wasn't even trying for himself, just his girlfriend and 5 others including me, got in, told us one of the post codes were wrong, subsequently decided he was gonna jump in to that spot (he was gonna try for Sunday only, and the friend with the wrong postcode wasn't responding to us!!), he got those 6 just in the nick of time. Seconds later our mate responded with his correct postcode. Too late. But Kei's girlfriend in the same house as him, had got through to payment rapidly, and purchased a ticket for the guy who's postcode was wrong... so we ended up with 7! This very menial story I've brought to you on eFests, was a monumental stress-fest on our 40-strong WhatsApp group, particularly as I'd created my yearly meticulous Excel sheet and they all know the score - treble check your details even if you've not changed them!

This will be my 7th GF, but FIRST on a coach, and I cannot bloody wait. I feel so, so lucky and relieved after a horrible stressful year at work... this has changed everything about my outlook and positivity (sad as it sounds). Ocean Colour Scene, Glastonbury, then Oasis at Wembley. Wow. And a f**king lovely healthy family. The little things can f**k off.

Big love to all

Edit: just to add - the two in the same household who got through with ease (the other 38 didn't even get passed the first blue bar), had one laptop on WiFi, and a mobile on 4G. Both devices were successful. No idea how useful that info is but it felt like absolute pot luck. However - this guy notoriously has been the most successful in our very large group. Like he has some kind of weird glasto internet-gateway in his house in the Black Country.

Phew that was a relief then, glad it all worked out. Super lucky. Hope you have the best time at the best place on the planet.

Just trying to gather any hints whatsoever but it really is just luck. I'm feeling lucky for Sunday so fingers crossed 🤞

Can anyone shed any light on what arriving on the thursday is like (all 6 of us so n one to take in our tents etc) is there actually space available anywhere. Do they keep campsites back for thursday folk. half 8 bus from bristol so should be there sharp

I’ve done it before, it’s a bit tight but there’s always room somewhere. Unlikely to get a plot together though. Camp in the suburbs rather than downtown.

It’s under construction, the bits I can remember

Love that. Always interesting to hear stories and insight from different aspects and elements of the festival production and delivery. I started working in events management (in some capacity) in recent years and comparing what I did to something the scale of Glastonbury - the appreciation goes through the roof. Insane.

Thank you. Sending all the positive vibes your way. I've had bad luck in recent years, but massively lucky historically. Definitely don't over do it with devices and tabs. Laptop on WiFi, phone on 4G and wait/ne patient. Good luck x

i can still hardly believe it. every year that i'm there I think "you'd better enjoy it because your luck isn't guaranteed next year" - and then here we are.

The lineup doesn't even matter - at this stage in my life it's such a huge part of my ritual that it feels somehow a part of me.  I know a lot of you all get that. I don't at all take it for granted.  Feeling very blessed today.

First time on the site since last festival, we got coach tickets absolutely buzzing. Can someone point me in the direction of the chat which has all the coach times as friends also got Reading and I’m just interested in times but can’t seem to find it. Thanks and congratulations all who got in (my 4 devices never got past 2 bars)

First time for me after 5 years of trying since I turned 18. In and out by 18:08 so glad it went smoothly for once.

Good on you mate 👍 your first time there is the absolute best, soak it all up! Get right on Tort's guide and have a read of it, its biblical. You're going to have the most amazing weekend!

A soon-to-be-second timer here! Managed to make it for the first time this year after wanting to attend for (yikes) decades!

Just me and my daughter next year (this year was with a group of friends), really looking forward to sharing the whole experience with her.

Feel spectacularly lucky to have netted tickets at all, but particularly to also get relatively local coach tickets as I don't drive and then again to get Wednesday coach tickets. The Glastonbury gods were definitely smiling down on me yesterday.

Can still scarcely believe it.

If anyone’s going from Taunton give me a shout I might be able to help with free parking 15 mins max walk from bus departure point , also happy to give any advice about Taunton pubs / bars accommodation etc . Hopefully an early bus and I’ll see you there

6am in 2015 but that was a very long time ago! Certainly be disappointed if it was any later than lunchtime though.
