Last year was my first time not being there for ages my choice as id decided to call it quits

Felt a bit weird watching footage the first day ,second day had friends and family round from midday put tv outside and lit fire pit in evening

Sunday totally knackered and was glad to wake up in me own bed lol

A lot of alcohol was consumed as is tradition but felt like the Saturday session got it out of my system

Tried for tickets for friends on Sunday and failed didnt have any desire to change my mind at all

Seen a few gigs i wouldn't have been able to see if id gone glasto this yer

So happy with that

I have a closing video of the last song playing at Genosys on Monday morning if you would like me to send this to you since you’ve mentioned this as one of your last moments!

That would be fantastic 😀

We had already decided not to go, but I had a last-minute "You know what... if the universe says it's ok, we'll go for it".

Didn't get past two bars and that's ok. But equally, I feel like even trying in the future might not even be worth it. I've been fortunate enough to go several times, and happy to pass the torch on if needed.

This will obviously be the year that all my favourite bucket list bands turn up though, right?

Exactly this!

In two minds as to what to do.

Might try for the resale, but also considering trying something different and avoiding the potential resale heart break.

Maybe Beatherder or Lost Village.

Or a string of day festivals and have a break from camping!

Lost Village is fantastic, first time this year and we loved it

3rd year in a row we've missed out.

2023 I was devestated

2024 I was sad at the time but we went on a 'once in a lifetime' holiday to Antigua

2025 - I wasn't even sure we were going to try until a couple of weeks before but then I whipped myself in to a frenzy - particularly as I was over half way through the bars of doom when the 'half sold' sign went up. I kind of feel ok about it today. I'm sad - Glastonbury is the best time with the people I love the most. It'll all be good and we will look for somewhere else. I came straight off Seetickets yesterday and went straight on to 'once in a lifetime holidays to St Lucia' type pages instead 🤣

Taking the money we will save from not going now and looking at a big holiday instead

Did exactly that last year. We were already going on holiday but we fathom Glastonbury costs us close to 3 grand as we hire a camper these days. We put that towards what we would normally spend and blew the budget on a luxury hotel in Antigua. We went in July rather than when the festival was on - gave me something to look forward to when the 'not being there' regret was kicking in

Next year the Glastonbury budget is going to do the same again

Nos alive, sziget or Mad Cool then?

If you are looking for something that is Glastonbury like - go for Sziget. It has all the different little offbeat areas to explore, and bands you’ve never heard of to stumble across, and the setting is lovely on an island in the Danube.
You can camp, but you can also do Sziget with flights and a city apartment for only the same as Glastonbury would cost. Pick up a city pass for easy transport and free entry to a spa.

Usually brilliant weather too.

Nos & Mad Cool are much more about the line ups with little else happening.

Have been reading everyone’s comments with interest and mulling over why I feel as low about it as I do. I think actually a lot of it is just habit. Would have been our 16th, so it’s kind of a routine now. Also my birthday weekend which is an added sting. I’m definitely struggling to think of anything we might be able to do instead that gives me any enthusiasm, but we do have some tricky life restrictions that mean holidays abroad etc. are not an option for us currently.

Oh, I’m sure I’ll cheer up soon. Rationally, we didn’t actually have that great a time last year, it was a struggle quite often. And we had no interest in last year’s headliners and none in the rumours for this year, so likely it is time to move on. It’s hard when somewhere has been a huge part of your life for so long. Will feel empty in the run up, for sure.

I echo many of these thoughts. I went into the sale feeling my chances were much lower and I was quite happy with having that vs F5 stress coming to thing. I didn't have anywhere near the after sale feeling I would have had a few years back. The festival is not ehat it once and was and thats likely overall reflected in that. Really trying hard on F5 to not succeed is really deflating and I had also decided my next own was likely my last. I get the going through motions parts as many times I've thought here we are again.

I will be in for the resale and if not I will be avoiding any bbc coverage etc but that's how it is there.
