Jamm
So, let’s talk Shakey. Newcomers album recommendations: Live - Weld, Noise & Flowers, Glastonbury 2009, Carnegie Hall 1979 Studio - After the gold rush, Rust never sleeps, Harvest, Everybody knows this is nowhere, Rumoured to headline but irregardless if he does or not it’s very likely he’ll be touring Europe with the Chrome Hearts so worth the discussion regardless - https://m.neilyoungarchives.com/news/1/article?id=A Message from Neil - 11-15-24 Headliners 2025 thread already covered if he should headline (yes, yes he should) but what would his Glastonbury setlist look like in 2025, would he retread the ground of 2009 or go completely left? https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/neil-young/2009/worthy-farm-pilton-england-73d676bd.html From the bigger songs sincerely hope Old Man and Only Love Can Break Your Heart return to his repertoire - both have been absent since 2019. With the anniversary of On The Beach maybe Walk On gets an airing. Controversially I can do without Sugar Mountain and Powderfinger. For big songs he missed last time: Ohio, Southern Man, Helpless, After the gold rush, Hank to Hendrix, like a hurricane, Mr Soul, Cortez the Killer, When you dance, Cowgirl in the sand, Don’t let it bring you down, The Loner, Walk on, Tonight’s the night… and much more. In terms of repeats I think Heart of gold and rockin in the free world will be safe and I would hope Hey Hey and Cinnamon Girl stick. In an ideal world would get to see him do a festival crowd pleaser set, and see him headline his own show playing whatever the hell he wants to. Also…. Neil played a set with Stills in October, and Nash is touring next year. Though not sure Nash’s current relationship with the others.
Gnomicide
I've got Weld on at the moment, I've also listened to Carnegie Hall this week. Such a bredth of work, it's hard to know exactly what I'd want without sacrificing something else. Number one on my wishlist though is Cortez. He could just stretch that out for 90 minutes and I'd be happy.
Scrump
I keep coming back to NY and just can't seem to crack it. If anyone can let me know the killer song list to help me get it, I'd be mucho appreciato! Maybe he's just not for me

CharlotteB
Neil Young is brilliant. Bang on any of his records and you won't go too far wrong. Fantastic live. Sticks it to the man. What more can you want?

Though bugger all chance of hearing him play it live anywhere, let alone at Glastonbury.

LCD soundsystem, sprints, idles etc. But also love most genres... Reggae old school rock, folk for sure, funk n soul. Mate, let's call a spare a spade, I'm a 6 music dad. uscore
Presumably there'll be opportunities to see him at plenty of definitely-not-corporate events on the tour instead. 🙄
charlierc
Am I the only one scratching my head at his own reasons cited for why he's pulling out and throwing a strop about BBC involvement? If he was then turning up at American Express presents BST Hyde Park, as was also rumoured, that would just really confuse a few people a bit more. balti-pie
Oh ffs. This has right shat on my chips, the only prospective headliner I had an interest in. He’d have smashed it too, obvs. I can’t be bothered with bloody BST but that seems like the path of least resistance for him, which will be oh so less corporate than the pyramid field ffs
