You never know, with a bit of luck there’ll be artists you don’t like headlining Friday and Saturday too, and you won’t have to go at all 👍🏼

No chance but come on Rod Stewart and Neil Young.  Its like a Saga weekend away

This is the kind of entertaining nonsense that only Glastonbury can provide.

100%.  It's nice every now and again for the curtain to be pulled back and to be reminded that this massive cultural behemoth is being run by a family of farmers out of an old stone house in the middle of a field in Somerset

can you let the rest of us know the lineup for all the other stages, as you seem to know that there isn't anything else you like playing.

Glastonbury is a bit like if a Saga cruise ship washed up on the beach in Ibiza at the exact same moment when the nerd farm and new parent club got parachuted in and they all just set about parting together.

I don't feel like Neil Young is "of the past" in the same way Rod is though. He still puts out very relevant music.

Yeah.  For me he's like the folk rock Nick Cave, ageing gracefully and still sticking out music that is relevant to his fans rather than the oft repeated downward spiral of quality that affects many artists.

Out of upvotes but I loved this description.  There's something for everybody at Glastonbury, but you might have to put in some walking to make the most of it.

really not fussed he's doing it after all as A) I don't have a ticket and B) I don't like his music - but why are we calling him Shakey? Have I missed something?

He occasionally uses Shakey Deal as a pseudonym, so it's wound up as his nickname.

thanks. I spent ages reading through some of the posts here thinking we were talking about Shakin' Stevens!

Not true - the pseudonym the nickname comes from is Bernard Shakey - Neil's alter ego when it comes to anything visual, e.g. concert films.

I have heard Shakey Deal occasionally too, but it's not the origin.

I think you've expertly and succinctly described our group.

I honestly don't know why people come on here to moan about this or that artists.

If you buy tickets and everything else for Glasto purely because of the artists you think are going to play you've either;

1. Never been before or

2. Not explored enough to realise that even if all the big stages have artists you don't like or never heard of you will find something that floats your boat

Personally if it is Shakey/O-Rod/1975 you'll find me elsewhere but do I care? Like hell I don't, I'll be somewhere having a right good time regardless! Those who want to be there hope you have a damn good time as well.
