StuwieG
Had a early mid life crisis last year and started playing acoustic guitar. Really enjoying and now I'm after an electric one. Got no idea where to start. Budget would be around £300, and would want an amp as well. Only needs to be a small amp as it's mainly so I can play in the house with my headphones plugged into it. Favourite bands if that makes any difference... Beatles/Oasis/Stone Roses

Beatles/Oasis/Stone Roses My husband is a guitarist and he recommends you go for a secondhand Squire Stratocaster (made by Fender) and a Marshall MG30DFX amp which allows a headphone to be plugged in. If you have a local music shop it might be worth considering taking a mate with you to try it out first, then shopping on eBay. There's currently a nice black Squire for £140.00 + postage on eBay that has had little use. The Marshall amps can also be found on eBay, he spotted a good one for £71.10 + £10 postage. 😊
mph
Don't get a Flying V if you sit down when playing A lot of different shapes and weights with guitars You should go to your nearest guitar shop to find one that feels right for you standing or sitting, and if anything is not to your liking (height of strings from fretboard etc) they will sort it 1
