paulshane
2004 was more 'sticky' though as far as I remember the caravan I had at the time (a freebie I got a few weeks before the festival) leaked live a sieve though, heres a valiant attempt at drying bedding, and it being unceremoniously flattened at my local scrappy on the monday

I remember trying to divert several pools of water in the tent to run outside . rain does always sound much worse inside tents mind Whereas swear that in 2016 it had rained solidly since January! I seem to remember driving my colleagues nuts with my constant commentary on the weather.

jonnytee1
1998 was my first Glasto and the weather was awful! I've been many times since and all weekends have been great weather. If i could handle 1998 as my first - nothing is stopping me now Except for bad joints, feeling the cold more due to being bald, carrying a spare trye around and literally being 90% more like victor Meldrew

Fred Zepplin
The site will handle wet weather a lot better than ever before and they will have wood chip at the ready if needs be. I showed my kids videos of wet Glastonburys and there response was 'I hopes it like that this year'. I made them drink their own Piss as punishment for such words

I think it's good to have done a really mud one as your first as it made the muddy ones i've done since (2011? 2016) a breeze compared to it. I deliberately missed both 97 and 98, because somehow I knew they were going to be muddy

He indicated that he did it all the time, and then extolled the virtuous health benefits of doing so. I had already kind of turned off listening to him way before he had finished talking though.I can't recall my response when he did finish talking (this was many years ago). It probably went down the polite route of something like 'Yeah alright mate, I'll have a think about it'. The fact is that I had already concluded that it was a non runner. It's like colonic irrigation, in that if we were meant to have water (coffee) pumped up our arses, then presumably we'd have all grown tubes out of our bum holes by now in order to cater for such a thing. It'd be awful to take yourself as seriously as he does, wouldn't it? 🤣
Spindles
Paul Weller has all the stage presence of a microphone stand. He still owes me 90 minutes of my life for that Phoenix festival headline slot in 1994. I was too young and foolish to just up and walk away, a mistake I have rarely made at a festival since.
