balti-pie
West Holts is great for heading to when you dont quite know what to do with yourself: Dont fancy any of the bands on the main stages? chances are there'll be something good on West Holts. Tends to be a decent crowd there too, on the whole. Not sure what to eat? go to West Holts, the food there is varied and generally of a better standard than most other big stages and areas. Particularly that Bayou cajun thingo, which ive been thinking about intermittently since June 😄 plus T+C is just round the corner, and if ive got a nice plate of food in me and fancy chilling out for a bit, i want nothing other than some kind of weirdness in T+C.

Expand Never thought of that term, but yeah guess you’re right. Personal thing, I just don’t see festivals as a place to obsess over food. As long as I get enough, it’s relatively healthy and I don’t have to wait too long then that’ll do. I remember having a conversation with an old friend a few years ago about what the toilets were like in the 80’s. Neither of us could remember, we then figured it was because we didn’t really eat, just took drugs. It builds anticipation towards getting a nice big bowl full of deliciousness. For £12 (ish) there was a big stack of cajun spiced fries topped with barbecued chicken, coleslaw and a few blackened shrimp - every element there was great. Genuine 9/10 stuff, and nobody was disappointed. i always look forward to the food every year, and dont really see the 'well, its just fuel, innit' mindset - i can put bland stuff in my chops to be entirely rudimentary and functional, or for a bit more money i can have something absolutely bloody lovely thatll live long in my memory (or something shite that i can complain about on here 😄)
