West Holts is great for heading to when you dont quite know what to do with yourself: Dont fancy any of the bands on the main stages? chances are there'll be something good on West Holts. Tends to be a decent crowd there too, on the whole.

Not sure what to eat? go to West Holts, the food there is varied and generally of a better standard than most other big stages and areas. Particularly that Bayou cajun thingo, which ive been thinking about intermittently since June ðŸ˜„

plus T+C is just round the corner, and if ive got a nice plate of food in me and fancy chilling out for a bit, i want nothing other than some kind of weirdness in T+C.

I’ve heard there are dedicated food festivals out there

What's your problem with this Skip? Glastonbury has an amazing variety of food, which is an attraction in itself. You don't partake which is fine but i and many many others do. Is it the gentrification of the festival that sticks in your throat?

Never thought of that term, but yeah guess you’re right.

Personal thing, I just don’t see festivals as a place to obsess over food. As long as I get enough, it’s relatively healthy and I don’t have to wait too long then that’ll do.

I remember having a conversation with an old friend a few years ago about what the toilets were like in the 80’s. Neither of us could remember, we then figured it was because we didn’t really eat, just took drugs. There was no ban on pissing where you wanted back then

Pissing anywhere, or taking loads of drugs?

food and pissing everywhere ... its great to have that choice ... you can still go basic if you want but get the chance to try things beyond the usual ... for me not so much as the carbs and my sugar levels are a ballache to control .

I would agree if anyone was going for the food alone but simply wanting food that is palatable I don't see a problem with.

I can session with the best of them but do like something tasty as opposed to shoving anything in because its just q calories/numbers game.

I can't remember the name of it but there was a Duck stall at West Holts that had amazing Dirty fries with Duck that was probably the tastiest thing I had all weekend. That or the BBQ place just round the corner.

I wish I had taken photos or writen them down.. maybe I'll look for a map

The Duck Truck! Didn't go in 2024 but in 2023, they had one in West Holts next to Goan Fish Curry stall and one near HMS Sweet Charity in the Park field... the slow cooked duck with pomegranate salad was insane!

Correct on many fronts here!

WH is the best area overall, for both food and music.

Tend to have one pint of Brothers per festival (I know many here dislike it, but I like sweet drinks, fight me), but they didn’t have strawberry this year, a travesty.

And the Cajun place…. Still not had it. Every time I’ve been the queue has been ridiculous, maybe this year…

I'm not always the most patient fella, but this is genuinely worth it. It builds anticipation towards getting a nice big bowl full of deliciousness. For £12 (ish) there was a big stack of cajun spiced fries topped with barbecued chicken, coleslaw and a few blackened shrimp - every element there was great. Genuine 9/10 stuff, and nobody was disappointed.

i always look forward to the food every year, and dont really see the 'well, its just fuel, innit' mindset - i can put bland stuff in my chops to be entirely rudimentary and functional, or for a bit more money i can have something absolutely bloody lovely thatll live long in my memory (or something shite that i can complain about on here ðŸ˜„)

I need to be more patient!

Might aim to get it Thursday so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on music.
