Interested to discover only now in this thread that spinning does occur.... because the whole pole spins. Obviously guys would not work then....

Not sure. I was planning to use some guys, because from testing in hardly any wind at all, the Skyblue poles dont seem overly sturdy without guys. I don't know if it necessarily has to spin?

It stops your flag getting tangled round the pole if the whole thing moves with the wind. Regards sturdiness, how big is your flag? Also if it's a bedsheet it may be quite a bit heavier than a standard polyester 5'x3' flag.

Flag will be about one metre tall, but less wide, more banner shape than flag, due to the shape of the desing. Pole is 4m. Will try to get thin cotton sheet. Polyester wouldnt be much good I dont think as it's going to require quite a lot of paint and dont think it would absorb too well.

Yeah, sorry it's just that's what type of flag most people will have. I've ordered a plain white flag (due to arrive tomorrow ) and to get round the designing of it we are going to get our image transferred onto a very large cheap t-shirt from Primark, then cut the image out and a girl in the works mum who happens to be a machinist is going to sew it onto the flag for us. Have I thought about this too much? Yeah probably!!!

Yes but cotton gets wet and droops like a bloke after 8 Ace.

Hopefully my plan to spray it with waterproofing tent spray and/or decent weather will combat that. Sheet is not ideal but its the best solution I can think of.

got the yellow flag booked and gettin the template done before monday.
