Flag Building tips

Is everyone flagged out from last years mammoth efforts? Not much going down in this thread this year.

sorry if it's already been asked somewhere on this thread [there are 25 pages and i'm not reading them all!], but what is the best way of making sure your telescopic flagpole doesn't fall over? do they come with pegs or something?? i'm buying one but never seen one up closeso some help would be appreciated.

Every year I say I'll make a flag and never bother but this thread has inspired me to finally get my arse in gear. I'll report back with pictures upon completion.........may take a few weeks!

My initial idea came from a version of Jay-Zee's 99 problems by Sage Francis, in which he has changed all the words. The hook goes "I like 99 rappers but Jay-Zee ain't one". So was thinking of doing that with some sort of characture of Sage's face. Maybe also a "BRISTOL CARPET FACTORY" smaller flag in homage to the Kid Carpet song of the same name....

My flag for last year...

Unfortunately the grim weather pretty much wrecked it but i still have the outline i traced it through stencilled out so it will return this year (and i'll be using better waterproof paint on it!)

Well, it is a dairy farm after all

I've actually just had an idea based on the red triangle so i might go with that this year.

Oh and a tip... dont trust 'permanent' black marker pen to be permanent in Glasto 2007 type conditions!

Does anyone know if those "flag bungee" things worth getting as a means of attaching the flag to the pole? Or would string do? :angry:

I figured elastic band round the pole... then another elastic band through the eye hole then through the band on the pole would be good enough... its the same as that bungee stuff (thick bands tho... maybe two)
