Discodown7
PURLEEEEASE!!!!! T has a lot more commercial bands if you can call it that, I've been going since it started and it's gradually deteriorated. Neds are everywhere, out to get wrecked as quick as possible for as long as possible. Glastonbury is not just about the bands, it's about the whole experience of being there with so many amazing people around you, all there for the same thing. You don't get much neddy behaviour there, cos they can't be arsed to travel down there. You said you didn't want abuse, but why ask the question of which is better then answer it yourself!?? Your mind will be changed on the 20th, guaranteed.
Baby On A Stick
Only been to T once (in 04 when we didn't get tickets for Glasto initially, then got some of the batch released end of May. Result!). Chose T because of cracking line up. Problem is that the site isn't very nice, it's full of well pissed up folk and the camping is AWFULL!! I've seen more room in sardine cans then those campsites. Not nice. As I've told anyone that asks, you can go to T, V, Wireless and the rest, but until you've been to Glasto, you haven’t lived. CAN"T WAIT!!!
future_shock
Yeah none of the other festivals compare to glasto. T is ok. I dont think its as good as everyone makes out however. Got told its brilliant and the atmosphere and banter are amazing but i wasnt that impressed. Far too many neds and i felt leeds had a more fun friendly vibe tbh. With the obvious exception that at T in the park drunk children dont set fire to everything in sight on the last night.
Ray Sheep
I've been to Glasto four times & T twice; T is nothing in comparison to Glasto. We spent a lot of the weekend being verbally abused in quite an aggressive manner by Scottish people (I am from London) & had to stay up all night on the second occasion that we went, because Scots were throwing burning wood & other objects at our tent simply because we were English. Never again!! Glasto, on the other hand, is a blissful, beautiful experience...no contest at all!

tommy_b
It's very simple - no other festival on Earth can touch Glastonbury. Least of all one sponsored by Tennants.
theleedslads
Went to T IN THE PARK last year and it was sooooooooo much better than Leeds Festival and Download!!!!!! The only thing about it was too much abuse i got foe being English! most of it was done in a banter kind of way but just got boring, and you couldnt even have an England flag or wear an England shirt which i thought was a bit off. Arctic Monkeys even got loads of shit for having a flag as a backdrop! Having said all that, there were loads of friendly people and made loads of friends. Better than GLASTONBURY? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went in 2005, and it was incredible, the sheer size of it blows you away! As personal festival experiences go id rate them like this. 1) GLASTONBURY 2) T IN THE PARK 3) LEEDS FESTIVAL 4) DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 5) READING FESTIVAL 6) V FESTIVAL
ukslim
I'd be interested to know what Glasto regulars think of American things like Coachella and Burning Man. Burning Man looks proper hardcore.
future_shock
A friend of mine went to burning man last year and said it was amazing. You barter for everything and there are lots of crazy things going on. Im deff going to go check it out sometime. Dont fancy Coachella though. It all seems a bit too organised, tents must be in a row etc. Can only drink in small designated areas. Too restrictive for me.
Red Day
Been to T in the Park every year since it started (only joy of being slightly older) and used to think it was the best thing ever. Didn't fancy Glasto due to all the stealing etc but went in 2003 as a one off just to say I'd been there. Wow it was fantastic and so much better than T. The one off has been a return in 2004 2005 and I'm going again this year. It's better because there's just so much to do and see and the Pyramid stage is just something special. If all you're into is getting hammered and watching bands, T is for you, but if you want the complete weekend it's Glasto by miles. T is a complete rip off now, so many people crammed in and very expensive beer etc. You bring your own at Glasto and walk about with it. Roll on next week. Katster
I'm not a big fan of TITP personally, but each to their own and that.

microcutz
Well as a regular TITP goer for the last seven years Id like to think Id add some insight. This is the first year I wont be going to T and its down to a few reasons, firstly I went on a family holiday this year and that seemed to take a lot of our resources and secondly I cant be bothered with it one bit any more. I guess this is my prerogative and only having been to one festival my point may seem less valid but I dont think it is. I have always wanted to goto Glastonbury but have thought why bother about the hassle as TITP is just on my door step. After going each year my love of T has lessened. To many Neds/Chavs/Scallys, to much aggressive "banter". Now I have met many friendly people at TITP and many ass holes but I have had enough. Don't feel as comfortable at it as I used to and think that if I were to continue going to festivals it would only be Glastonbury. The line up for T is much better for me this year on the surface, though I understand the depth Glastonbury has is unreal. TITP is for me easily the second best in the UK but its not got the same appeal as Glastonbury. Im starting to prepare for next year as Glastonbury is the top of my list. I want to goto a festival were their are like minded people (not that I am a hippie or a traveller I just like the idea of getting on with people). theleedslads
Cant wait for T IN THE PARK. Glastonbury is King of festivals in terms of the sheer size, choice and things to do. However, the atmosphere during bands at Glastonbury is terrible!!!!! nobody hardly moves! Manics were quality and hardly anyone was responding! if it had been t in the park it would have been a much different story. The T IN THE PARK lineup is pretty damn good this year, so im really looking forward to next week! Lets just hope the sun comes out!!!!!!!!! ben dover
Anyone who compares the T and Glasto atmospheres clearly has little or no clue. TITP is wahey, pissed, we're mental, look at us atmosphere. This may be an amazing atmosphere for some and/or annoying for others. Glastonbury has everything giving all such a ridiculous amount of choice: Chilled: Greenfields, tipis, acoustic, bongos at the stone circle, back of the pyramid stage, train track watching the other stage. Active: front of pyramid/other, jazz world (when it is world music), leftfield, croissant neuf, glade and other random venues. Like no other festival in the world: Lost Vagueness, at your tent WHILE watching your favourite band. The scottish crowd are more mental, the irish mentaller. However the past couple of years the T crowd has been rowdy, abnoxious and clearly drink too much too fast. Half the people i konw at T can barely get to the Sunday and that is only two days. As you can sense i cannot stand T. An absolute waste of what was the festival with the best atmosphere. Mind you after Glasto this year i can see it following suit.
