mrfunk
I'm in the market for a new trolley this year. Looking at this Trolley. Anyone got any experience of using this - like the fact it folds down but not sure how tough it really is.
r0cky
Looks good, but the axel looks a tad thin.... 120kg....
Russeh
Hows about this little beauty: Found in Argos for £39.99 A little pricey but: - Has chunky wheels - Can carry 200kg - Has a nice wide base to pile things on - Folds down nice and flat - And even comes with a storage bag to prevent the wheels depositing mud everywhere Apart from the price it seems to good to be true, has anyone road tested one of these babies? Thinking if it's durable enough then it might be a worthwhile long-term investment... Edited May 22, 2008 by Russeh
Rusko
Just bought one of these in the Gloucester B&Q for £25 in the sale. It holds about 50kg (7st) so can't be used for carting too many heavy things around. Should hopefully do the job though. Might be able to modify it if not. There wasn't many left, if anyones interested in getting one.

clockworkpurple
finally got a B&Q sack truck yesterday and have christened her Gertie. they don't make it easy though.....the two nearest B&Qs were out of stock and we were wandering 'round the 3rd one for ages! eventually asked 3 members of staff, who finally directed us towards some indoor ones, which weren't right, and said "there's more outside, right at the back". we head outside to the back to find a pile of very wet, dirty, and slighty rusty sack trucks. when we dug out the cleanest and least rusty, found a trolley, and took it to the counter, it didnt have a barcode on (water had washed the label off) so we had to wait around for about 10 minutes while they found the code. what a hassle for a sack truck....i hope it's worth it! clockworkpurple
OK, a further question relating to sack trucks........what's the best thing to use for keeping the stuff on there?! i reckon the choice is between bungees and straps......what've people used before and what would you recommend? ta! Saturday Boy
PS My B&Q trolley tyres need some air in them, anyone know what pressure they should be ?
itsybitsy
I'm pretty sure its 30 psi. It says on the tyre. They are Schreader valves so you can use a car footpump or even the local garage. Most mountain bikes use the valve - I used my bike pump.
clockworkpurple
I used a nice long ratchet strap last year. Threaded it around the bars on my B&Q sack truck and leave just enough length to thread it through the ratchet buckle. You can keep ratcheting until all your stuff is clamped _tight_ to the sack truck (and stop just before the wine box explodes ). I used a couple of bungees to lash sleeping bags/mats onto the top, but they lasted until the first serious rut in the track and went flying! +1 for the strap fanclub. pezzypops
my parents went to canada with some friends last year. they stayed a week at their friends' brother's place. he had made a train for his grand-kids out of sack trolleys and plastic barrels, and took them for rides through the woods and his huge garden pulled by the lawn mower
Kyelo
I have been using a fold away trolley like the one below since 2003. It's been to 9 festivals with upto 5X18 crates on it. It cost me £30. I don't understand how folk manage to break them, they are obviously doing something wrong. Mine has been through ankle deep mud and knee high water, it's survived some proper abuse but is still going strong. I don't maintain it in anyway either. It's perfect in my view. halvin
My trolley looks like this: http://www.lawson-his.co.uk/images/Silverline/868581.jpg Got it from B&Q for £12.98. Worked perfectly in the mud of this year; walked effortlessy in/out at high speed with a massive holdall bungeed on. Large wheels and good clearance, it rode through the water/mud. Will be using it again, and again,...
oafc0000
These trolleys are £32.29 on diy.com now. I was thinking about getting one but was a little annoyed that they're so much more expensive now. I've just been to the B&Q near my work (High Wycombe) and found them hidden at the back at £14.98. Brilliant! Here it is in all its trolley-ey glory:
