luckysalt
yeah, Rey has only been a face, you're right, I wasn't really thinking back to 80's as there were always faces only back then, you could list hundrens, im thinking post Hogan heel turn and since then theres been very few Rock, Austin, Taker, Big show, Angle, HHH, Brock, Cena, Batista, Orton, Foley, Bret Hart, Shawn Michales they've all been heels, all the big names, Rey is possibly the only one in WWE who hasn't been turned heel, good call

Uncle Liam
Prediction for tonights main event. Karen Angle or her "surprise guest" either costs Kurt the match and the title. Or its all a big swerve and costs Joe the match, so they can take him off TV while he sorts his new, real life contract out. Either way, there will be interference in the CAGE MATCH which will determine the outcome. I hate this company.
Halcyon
spoilers from www.f4wonline.com on Lockdown: 1. XSCAPE Match: "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal vs. Curry Man vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Johnny Devine vs. Shark Boy vs. Consequences Creed. They only got about ten minutes but it was really fun while it lasted. Came down to Lethal and Devine. Devine taped Lethal to the ropes and tried to climb over for the win, but Guru helped Lethal cut himself free, then opened the cage door so Lethal could dive through for the win. Pretty good opener and this crowd is HOT. Frank Trigg did a great interview talking about how Joe had no chance to win tonight. This was awesome. 2. Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky vs. Salinas vs. Rhaka Khan vs. Traci Brooks vs. Christy Hemme vs. Jacqueline vs. Roxxi Laveaux in a Queen of the Cage match. Basically, a reverse cage match where the first two girls in have a singles match to determine the winner. Came down to Angelina Love and Roxxi, and Roxxi won with the voodoo drop. They worked hard and this was fine, and the reverse battle royal part was very short. Great promo with Samoa Joe. 3. Kip James vs. BG James. BG avoided a dive into the corner and rolled him up for the clean pin. It was OK. BG wanted a handshake afterwards but Kip clotheslined him out of his boots, so this feud must continue. 4. The Motor City Machineguns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. The Latin American Xchange (Homicide y Hernandez) vs. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner & "Little Petey Pump" Petey Williams vs. The Rock N' Rave Infection (Jimmy Rave & Lance Hoyt) vs. Eric Young & Kaz vs. Black Reign & Rellik in a cuffed in the cage match. Eric got jumped before the match and was laid out, so of course he returned at the end as Super Eric and got the win. Match was a total mess to the point where the announcers couldn't follow it at all. Crowd got into the finish, though. 5. Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed vs. Gail Kim & ODB. ODB pinned Saeed after Kong accidentally hit her own partner with a spinning backfist. This was a good match, the highlight being Gail hitting Saeed with a super frankensteiner. 6. Booker T & Sharmell vs. Robert Roode & Payton Banks. Guys worked the entire match until the finish. Girls got in there and Peyton accidentally slapped Roode. Sharmell then rolled her up for the pin. Roode pitched a fit afterwards and walked out on Peyton. Pretty good match thanks to the guys. 7. Team Cage (Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, Rhino, Sting, Matt Morgan) vs. Team Tomko (Tomko, AJ Styles, Team 3D , James Storm) in a War Games match. Very good match. Once all the guys were in they lowered the roof and all the weapons came into play. The highspot was a deal where AJ set up a ladder ON TOP of the cage, right by the edge. This was way too dangerous. Storm tipped it over, the right way thank God, and both AJ and Christian went through a table on top of the cage. Too many hard shots to the head of various guys. Storm finally broke a beer bottle over Morgan's head, but then turned around right into a gore for the pin. 8. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe for the TNA Title. f**king awesome match. They worked this like it was a SHOOT PRO WRESTLING MATCH, with MMA style submission work, suplexes and throws, rope breaks, pin attempts, the whole nine yards. No interference, and in fact Angle had Karen kicked out before the match even began. Joe ended up throwing him into the cage, the only time it was used, hitting a superkick and then a giant muscle-buster for the clean pin. This was so, so great. Uncle Liam
True, you cant have many generic characters, but on the flip side, you cant have too many comedy characters: Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Shary Boy, Curry Man, Super Eric, Black Reign, Rellik 9did you know that Rellik is Killer spelt backwards?!?!?!??!?!), Rock and rave infection, A.J. Styles all comedy characters. And unfunny ones, mainly, might I add. One of the reasons WCW was so successful between 95-98 was they had an undercard of generic guys just going out and having great matches. Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, chris Jericho, Rey Misterio Jr, Juventud Guerrera, Blitzkrieg, Billy Kidman, Eddy Gueerero, Blitzkrieg, Psychosis, etc etc etc. Lockdown will apparently break TNA's record for viewing figures. But it will still be pathetically low because top to bottom, over the last eighteen months, they've made it impossible to care about any of the wrestlers. Ok, they may have started to make progress. But heres what confuses me, Kurt Angle will claim that Vince Russo made WWF on his own. OK, why did Steve Austin break all box office records? Why did he and Rock get 70000 into the Astrodome? Its simple. Its because people could relate to him. Near enough every person has had a boss who arse they wanted to kick. and they saw it when Steve austin (and others since, though less effectively) beat up Vince McMahon. And then drink beer. People relate to that. People cant relate to anything that has happened in TNA in ages. And considering Russo apparently booked this (i.e.e- he didnt) I'm surprised he hasnt tried to implement this forumla in TNA.
