I love Sid. His matches are rubbish, but his promos are so nonsensical they are great. But he's been saying that he's been coming back to WWE for years now. I just dont think its going to happen.

My feeling on TNA is that it just doesn't offer much different to WWE but without having seen much of it* I percieve it to be small-time and basically not as good, without the stars I want to see. Yeah they've got Sting, Angle, Christian, Booker, Nash etc - i was watching them 4-18 years ago in other feds- I don't care to have to watch a whole new set of shows to see them again. And from seeing the Chris Harris'/Braden Walker's who have moved to WWE, there's really no inclination to get into their new stars. I'm sure AJ, Samoa Joe etc are great... I just don't can't be bothered.

I think it's the feeling a lot of serious-ish WWE fans have. Its not like ECW in the mid/late-90s where you can see something completely new and innovative.

*I think my total TNA viewership has been their very first match, the Jung Dragons vs Flying Elvises or something, and a whole PPV from about 12-18months ago that didn't excite me at all.

Dana White:

What are the major sports in America right now? The NFL and Major League Baseball, with the NBA third. The NHL was fourth, but now we’re fourth, and we’re still in our infancy. Our ratings on Spike TV beat most of the major sports in our 18-to-34 demo. Last year we beat four Monday Night Football games in the demo. In eight years, the UFC will be bigger than the NFL, bigger than World Cup soccer. It will be the biggest sport in the world.

Nothing wrong with aiming for the stars, but you do need a bit of perspective. MMA is never going to be bigger than NFL or MLB. I doubt it'll ever be as strong as plain boxing. I'd say it's bigger than the world cup in america already, because soccer means f**k all over there, but it's never get over in Europe, and it's dying a death in Japan at the moment. So as usual Dana is talking out of his arse.

As for TNA.... it really bugs me. Sometimes, the actual wrestling can be so great it's infuriating. They've got a shit load of really great workers on the roster, and the womans division is the best in the industry. It's just they see the need to dress everything up in bullshit angles. If they'd just to very simple, very basic angles and let the wrestlers get on with it, then they'd have a great product. What turns views away (and what has turned me away) is the fact that the include all the extra 'stuff' in the show. It's always 'to the back where stuff is happening', 'or here's some awful comedy that just isn't funny', or 'here's another run-in'. It really could be so great, but it just isn't.

And happy birthday Liam mate... hope you have a good one. You'll have to let us know your gammertag if you make it online with your 360. Doubt I'll get the TNA game, although I've heard only decent things about it at the moment. I'll probably wait for SDvsRaw 09.

yeh, a few folks contacted pro wrestling about it and sky have said this:

Sky Sports edited Edge's segments out of this week's SmackDown broadcast because of the kidnapping overtones and the "disturbing hostility shown by the character of Edge towards the character of Vickie Guerrero." Sky stated that it was WWE who edited the show, not them. WWE has a list of guidelines from Sky and WWE edits the show before they send it out. A "From the Vault" video was aired to make up for the time lost with the Edge and Vickie segments.

- It was believed that Jeff Hardy broke his neck at this past Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in a match with Shelton Benjamin, but another report coming from within the company said he just showed up with some fluid in his elbow that wouldn't drain that well. We're still waiting to hear confirmation on the neck injury. As of this writing, Hardy's match with MVP at SummerSlam is still a go.

Edge v Undertaker - Taker

John Cena v Batista - Cena

Triple H v The Great Khali - HHH in an almighty squash

CM Punk v JBL - Punk

ECW Champion Mark Henry v Matt Hardy - Hardy

MVP v Jeff Hardy - This match isn't going to happen

Kofi/James vs Santino/Beth - Beth

I'm actually considering staying up and watching this, just for HBK's promo - could well be another "I will never retire" moment
