Thought I'd say hello to singles thread, been a few years, I think - More to do with work getting in the way of internet lurking than actually developing a life. Anybody remember who the f**k I am? :DDD seen a few names I remember, efests seems a lot quieter, did all the regulars get banned?

I work at a University, and while exact policies will vary from place to place, they shouldn't be hugely different - it's recognised that when you've got 10,000+ people on one campus, inevitably relationships are going to develop.

To massively simplify what the policy says, staff/student relationships must be immediately declared by the member of staff in question, and he/she then shouldn't have any further professional involvement with the student (and certainly not anything which puts them in a position of trust or influence). Which seems fair enough to me.

If you're really interested, have a look on the HR website for your Uni - there's a pretty high chance that the policy will be published there.
