Make-up isn't to beautify (this isn't the victorian era) it's to negate perceived ugliness. It's insecurity in the extreme. Every guy likes a beautified woman. It's just the type of model and style of beauty that makes it attractive/repulsive. Tacky face paint on some clueless boiler is of no use to a man with fine tastes.
