Used to work with a girl who must have had about an inch thick layer of make-up on every time I saw her. You couldn't really tell most of the time, but in the wrong light it was terrifying! I thought my avatar had come to life at one point :)

You're judging this wrong. A woman wants to feel attractive. If she's ugly then she won't feel attractive. Make-up isn't to beautify (this isn't the victorian era) it's to negate perceived ugliness. It's insecurity in the extreme.

Every guy likes a beautified woman. It's just the type of model and style of beauty that makes it attractive/repulsive. Tacky face paint on some clueless boiler is of no use to a man with fine tastes.
