It sounds to me like he's keeping you on the bench (so to speak) as a back-up for when he doesn't want to settle down. He wants to go off and get as much as he can before he shacks up with someone for good. I would suggest not waiting around. Get out there yourself!

I do think you're right........ and I'm not really waiting around, I've been out with other guys since him, and I've really tried to move on, but I've just not met anyone else since who I feel the same way about (I'm sure I will eventually tho, just need to keep looking)

Guess prob depends on the quality/age/state of repair/mileage/number of careful (or possibly not so careful) owners of the goods being offered
