mario kart got a pretty good review, and a pretty average 8/10 score on eurogamer. mainly marked down for poor online functionality. will probably be the first wii game I might actually play after buying.

duke nukem - dunno?

I'm sure alan wake was originally slated for a release about 6 months after the console came out. thats some mighty delays right there!

I might give mario galaxy another go this afty, I literally played it for about 40 minutes and thought "whats all the fuss about?" - am I missing something?

I actually caved and bought PGR4 on thursday. I had forgotten how much fun a really well made racer can be. And I havent even scratched the surface yet, Ive only done about 20 events on career. So without wanting to sound arse licky - big up to the monkey and the rest of the team at bizzare. although I might add - geo wars waves is a bit poo.

Been playing Mario Galaxy again too and was sat up until 4 last night collecting stars with Luigi. That game is like videogame crack. I started by promising to get ten stars then turn it off, then when I got to 10 I thought I'd go to 20, then I'd decide to get 30, then I'd have to at least do the last Bowser fight, then I'll go for a new purple coin challenge aswell. Crack I tells ya.

It's always refreshing to look it, the artwork, even in lo-res Wii graphics, still blows me away, it's so slick and imaginative, I'm still finding loads of things I love about it.

Hey guys, just wonderring if anyone has read about a petition for getting UK developers to be given tax credits in order to level the playing field in comparison to developers in the United States and the rest of the world.

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ukgames/

With budgets on the increase and the risk of innovation vs tried and true money-makers constantly influencing British game developer output more than ever, if you're interested in preserving British games development, it'd be rather wise to sign this.

Whether or not the Government and powers that be actually wants to preserve the UK games industry is questionable these days, but it's worth a shot.

I found PGR4 a great game, and as I said in a previous post, I havent even scratched the surface on it yet, GT is a bit like forza IMHO, more of a sim racer than an arcade racer. I like the "pickupandplayability" of PGR4

I prefer project gotham to gran turismo, in fact that's reminded me to get back into PG4 and i've got loads left to do on it, I can't seem to put COD4 down at the moment to play any other game.

Like monkey said, i dropped GT after 3....it became a chore...ultra-realism has taken the place of fun...hopefully recaptures in Prologue...but i doubt it. PGR is awesome.

however, best racing game ever? Burnout 3 Takedown...by a country mile.

It seems that more people are picking up PGR4 now that the big obvious choices have settled down a bit.

You had the likes of Bioshock, Call Of Duty, Orange Box, Mass Effect, etc all jostling for control at the end of last year and everyone was obviously (and quite rightly so) playing COD4. Seems as though the gaming breather we're having at the mo has meant more people are picking up the less-marketed games they would have maybe wanted to play but were playing those more prolific games at the time.

Kinda like when people completely miss things like Donnie Darko and Blade at the cinema in favour of something like Die Hard 4, but then pick it up on DVD when they realise what they've been missing. ;)
