Alright, i need some advice, cause im poor, and can only get one...so for the people who are more objectibe than me, shud it be a Xbox Elite or a PS3.

Online, the xbox seems much better, despite not being free, everyones on it...but the PS3s got a browser, free online, and some great games and has the potential to get alot better...what dyu reckon?!?!

Wii will come first in sales, if that's what we're talking about.

but in terms of games, it isn't ever going to broad outside the realms of all the nishe genres and general casual crap (i.e. puzzle games, quiz games, movie tie-ins. It'll be a great system to own but will never deliver what the 360 and PS3 do to anyone who cared about gaming before the Wii.

In all honesty though, we're pretty much looking at the 360 and PS3 being the same, except the PS3 has an awesome first party catalogue to fall back on + strong support from Konami / Rockstar / Square-Enix, whereas Microsoft have their huge wallet to get the exclusives. For me the PS3 has the potential to make the best games, so although it may be years before we see it, it's the best purchase in the long run but really you're sorted either way.

Anywho, played the DMC4 demo today and it bored the hell out of me. Was it me or did it feel like the most last-gen gameplay ever? The combat was pretty much just hammer triangle constantly.

Ok, I'm seriously considering getting a PS3 in the next few days. What games would people recommend I get with it?(keeping in mind I already have an Xbox 360)

I quite fancy:

Drakes Fortune

Singstar (having a party on saturday thought it might go down well, although would like to know what the "better songs" on the soundtrack are?)

CoD4 (this ones a definate as a mate of mine with a PS3 has been playing online and I kind of want to join in :lol:)

cant wait to have a go on rock band.

i heard its coming out for the wii now, would be tempting to get it on that if i havent already bought a ps3 by then.

I get a bonus from work in a couple of months so im definately gonna get a ps3 with that, cant wait.

For me its all about the blu-ray, the psp location free player, and the final fantasy ( i love being a geek when it comes to the final fantasy franchise )

Gonna whack a 250gb hard drive in it when i buy and stream some video to my psp or stream some metal gear solid to the psp hehe.

Its just a model they are phasing out.

They are making the 40gb the standard at the moment. Although there are strong whispers of a new high capacity 120gb in the coming months to rival the xbox elites hard drive.

That being said its very very easy to upgrade the harddrive yourself, and i dont see them adding anymore functionality to any more models released so its probably worth getting the 40gb and buying a bigger HD yourself

For the PS3, I'd advise you start by buying Drake's Fortune (Best graphics) and COD4 (Best online), and Singstar if you have a use for it. Games like Motorstorm / Resistance / Ratchet and Clank are all good games, but I've yet to be convinced they're any better then that. Could all be worth a purchase though.

COD4 online is pretty good, the whole FPS thing does annoy me so really I'm just waiting for Socom but it's a good sub for now. Lots of people seem to love it though, and it'll probably be the best FPS online until Killzone 2.

Ah fair enough, I thought there might be some sort of program you could install if you had a bigger hard-drive, that's a bit of a shitter though. Had a look on ebay and all the 60GB ones are going for around £500, are they not in shops at all now?

Edit to add: Is there no way of Downloading a program to make your console backwards compatible to a memory card and transfering that over to the console?
