Katster
Do we get a wish for posting the same time about the same thing? Fingers crossed for you. What is it doing & when will you know? I got a tip from a very good friend of mine. The answers do count, but it's the confidence which gets you remembered when they're making their final decision - handy if it's a close one. remote
It's working as a Youth Support Worker. Day to day I'm still not 100% sure what that entails but basically I am there to help and support young people. If we get a wish for posting at the same time, I wish to get this job, it would be good for me

SharonStoned
I hope you get it! I've been in my new job for 6 weeks now and I finally feel I've got one I really enjoy. My boss told me last night that I gave a near perfect interview, which put a smile on my face.
SharonStoned
Fingers crossed! I'm now job hunting in the Child Services area, so that kinda job is the thing I'm after too! Hope you have good news soon.

the_hedge
Nice one, I usually hate new jobs for about 3 months as I don't know what I'm doing around the processes of a new service. Hate feeling like a spare part, especially that 1st week where you're grinning at everybody & being nice as you don't want to put your foot in it. It's just not natural for me
llcoolphil
The interview today went really well! I answered all questions fully and wasn't shy/nervous like I usually am in situations like that. I recently had a training session at work which I found very useful, I think it's had some sort of lasting effect on me confidence wise which is great stuff really. The job I applied for sounds amazing and very 'me', fingers crossed I get it, I'm fairly confident
the_hedge
Excellent news, fingers crossed Which one did you go for in the end - the one you really fancied or the one they offered you first? Unless that wasn't you and ignore me!

bunique
Cool, what's it for?? I phoned the job I'm still waiting to hear from yesterday. They did tell me it would take them a while to get back to me (and being a council job that means it will probably take months rather than weeks! ) and they told me no letters have been sent out yet. They told me to phone back next week if I'd not heard anything so sounds like I should hear within the next couple of weeks. I'm scared!!! Katster
You've been waiting a month for a decision ?
SharonStoned
Yeah. They did warn me it would take a long time. They have 30 positions available and interviewed just 30 people. Their decision isn't really about who gets hired over who, it's more about who would be best suited to which job. There were also people with valid reasons for not being able to attend the interview until a few weeks later than originally planned too apparently, so that slowed things down also.
