Jay Z out of Reading and Leeds

Jay Z has pulled out of the Reading and Leeds. There is no reason given for this ... so we can only assume that the allure of Beyonce is more than a field in Reading or Leeds. And, as a result, it's shuffle time.

The Darkness are confirmed as having moved days (and higher up the order to match the interest) into Jay-Z's slot. Other changes are expected, but have yet to be determined, although it's likely that The Thrills will move into the slot vacated by The Darkness.

We've heard a rumour that Evan Dando is the special guest to headline the Carling Stage on Friday at Reading and Saturday at Leeds.

Both the Reading and Leeds Festivals have a line-up that includes Linkin Park, Blur, Metallica, Blink 182, Placebo, Beck, Doves, System of a Down, Sum 41, Primal Scream, The Darkness and loads more. For the full list of the confirmed acts, click here for Reading and here for Leeds.

Reading Festival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend of Friday 22nd August until Sunday 24 August along with the simultaneous Leeds Festival.

Reading Festival takes place Little John's Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, nr Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Tickets are priced at £95 for the weekend (including camping) and £40 for any day.
