BBC Points West are running a vote for a local hero.
The five finalists are:
- David Hempleman-Adams (explorer)
- William Henry Fox Talbot (created the first ever photographic negative)
- John James (philanthropist)
- Frank Whittle (invented the jet engine)
- Michael Eavis (founder & organiser of the world's greatest festival - Glastonbury)
As this is written, Frank Whittle is in the lead. But we're fairly sure that most people from this website will have an alternative . Checks have been made with Points West that they won't be upset when Michael wins the vote ... so let's make sure he does, eh?
You can make your vote on the Point West website here.
