Glastonbury Festival has held the finals, for the competition to win slots on the Acoustic Stage and New Tent this June.

The competition asked bands to send in examples of their work. All submissions were listened to, and a shortlist made for bands to appear in the finals, where a panel of judges - which included Michael Eavis - would pick a winner.

Friday night was the Acoustic Stage finals, with bands Menlo Park, Bodixa, The Rosinators, Ralfe Band, Hushpukena, and Note for a Child. The congratulations go to Bodixa, who will perform on the Acoustic Stage at the Festival.

Last night was the New Tent finals. After finalists The LoveGods won the Radio 1 unsigned band competition, they had prior commitments, and so the bands were: Hombres Imposibles, Cream Tangerine, The Bilderberg Group, BlackBud, Skyscraper, and The Subways.

Glastonbury had a great setting for this, giving the bands a chance to show their best. Each band was enjoyed by all, regardless of which band (if any) they'd come to support, but two of differing styles stood above the others.

So, the judges decided on a tie between BlackBud and The Subways, who both now will perform on the New Tent at the festival - signed bands on that stage had better watch out! eFestivals recommends you make the effort to check out these excellent bands for yourselves.
