The Daily Record (here) is reporting that T in the Park boss Geoff Ellis is close to getting New Order to play this year.
It quotes him as saying "we're very close to completing a deal to bring New Order to T in the Park for the first time".
He admits to them being on his all-time wish-list of bands he wants for the festival, and goes on "it's going to happen and that's going to make me a very happy man."
More than 120 acts will perform on the eight stages at the festival, but so far only 16 bands have been announced - click here for the details.
Tickets for this year sold out in just four days from the first bands being announced, and plans are already afoot to sell tickets for next year. Mr Ellis is reported as saying that tickets will be on sale for 2006 immediately after this years event, that he expects to sell them out within one week, and without a band having been announced.
The sold-out T in the Park 2005 takes place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July, at Balado, nr Kinross.
