Lou Reed is the latest act announced for the Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place from Friday 9th June until Sunday 11th June 2006 at Seaclose Park Newport, Isle of Wight.

The ex-Velvet Underground frontman will be taking a walk on the ~~wild side~~ Isle of Wight on the Sunday, along with Kubb who are also newly confirmed to play that day.

They joins the acts already annouced:- The Prodigy, Placebo, Goldfrapp, The Rakes, and The Upper Room on the Friday, and Primal Scream, Editors, Dirty Pretty Things, The Kooks, and 747s all on the Satuday, with the Saturday and Sunday headliners still to be announced. More acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £85 for the three days (under-12yrs £42.50), and £105 with camping (under-12yrs £52.50), with campervans an extra £60 (per vehicle). To buy, click here.
