There's rumours starting to surface that T in the Park might be about to expand to be a three-day festival.
Scotland's Sunday Mail reports online (here) "Exclusive: festivals plans an extra day as stars sign on", and rumours of this have reached eFestivals too.
The version of the story that we've heard is that there's so many top bands wanting to play T in the Park this year that some bands will play on the Friday night, as that's the only way all the bands can be fitted in over the weekend. We've heard that, if these rumours turn out to be correct, only those people with camping tickets will be able to enjoy these bands and this extra night this year - meaning that those who bought their weekend camping tickets immediately after last year's festival will get an extra night's entertainment for free. The rumours reaching eFestivals suggest that the Arctic Monkeys could be one of the acts to feature on the Friday night.
If the rumours of limited Friday entertainment for campers only this year turns out to be true, then it's likely that T in the Park would expand to a full three day festival in 2008.
T in the Park is due to be announced this coming week, and if it is to expand to three days as the rumours suggest then this news is sure to be part of the announcement. Keep your eyes on eFestivals for all the confirmed details for this year's T in the Park when the announcement is made.
