The Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2008 has announced it's adding three piece Liverpudlian indie band The Wombats to Friday's line-up.

The Wombats have enjoyed chart success with 'Kill the Director', 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' and 'Moving to New York'.

They join the previously confirmed acts of the three headliners of the Kaiser Chiefs on the Friday, the Sex Pistols on the Saturday and The Police on the Sunday, along with Lily Allen, The Enemy, James, Kate Nash, Iggy And The Stooges, The Zutons, KT Tunstall, Ian Brown, The Kooks, N.E.R.D, The Hoosiers, and Scouting For Girls.
