The Daily Record online (here) are reporting that Amy Winehouse will play this year's T in the Park festival.
The newspaper website reveals that Amy will play the main stage on Sunday 13th July, before Kings Of Leon and headliners R.E.M. The festival director of T in the Park Geoff Ellis reveals in the article that, "It's always been the intention to have Amy come to play T in the Park after what happened last year.
"We didn't want to put pressure on Amy but she felt really bad about pulling out and, if ever she needed reassurance about how the Scottish public felt about her, playing those two nights at the Barrowland really slammed it home. She hadn't had a good night in Birmingham when she opened her tour but as soon as she walked onstage in Scotland the reaction was phenomenal. They gave her such a warm welcome that she gave two great shows."
The troubled singer was due to play T in the Park last year, but had to cancel blaming 'exhaustion' for her no-show last time. Geoff added: "Amy said, 'I still feel bad about last year and would love to play'. I'm so pleased she is coming to T. Her Grammys win and performance at the Brits shows she's back."
Amy joins a line-up headed for Balado, Scotland for the weekend of Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July that includes The Verve, Rage Against The Machine, R.E.M., Stereophonics, KT Tunstall, Feeder, The Wombats, The Fratellis, The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon, The Prodigy, Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers, Interpol, Ian Brown, The Racounteurs, Biffy Clyro, Counting Crows, The Pigeon Detectives, The Enemy, The Feeling, Amy MacDondald, Panic at the Disco, Hot Chip, Aphex Twin, and many more.
All tickets for this year's festival sold out in about an hour of going on sale. For detailed information about various aspects of the festival see the T in the Park Information (includes detailed info on camping, travel, children, food & drink, and more).
